Hi guys,
I just went through all the postings related xiss.I very much shocked about the cut off %ile for 2007-09.If an inst sets such a criteria well its shocking.Even couple of days back i collected few email ids of the current students (From the student profile posted in Inst. website) & sent them mails regarding the admission & placement.

All i can say is that response is mixed.Some said only PM is good & have moderate placement.Though one of them who replied me few hrs ago.Im giving exact her statement below.......

the cut-off marks of this year is really shocking, but we can always hope for the best.You have a good profile. I think u have already checked about the placement matters. Frankly speaking PM placements are never 100%.Last year around 50% of the students were placed on-campus & the rest got through in off-campus. This year its better as more than 50% of the students are already placed & still companies are yet to come.
It entirely depends on how u perform in campus & a little on the mkt requirements also.

Well i have asked them to provide me info regarding cost,campus & all others.
Im just waiting for thier repliees.Bcz my xat score is not good & also concern about my admission in xiss.But that only after getting all info.
I think we should get a clear picture about xiss before applying (Though the last date is 31st March!!!)

I am attaching the mandatory disclosure of XISS downloaded previous year from their site .

I hope this will solve the queries of many aspirants regardig fees to cufoffs to placements etc etc.

I have went through this stuff long ago.But there is not info about the hostels in campus.Only said the hostel fees is 3000 per annum.One more thing when an inst. decleared its cut off as 30%ile what would b the response in studetnt's mind. U tell me.
Im also concern about xiss as my xat score is poor this year. But as like others, im looking for proper info about the inst. b4 applying.One more thing....for last two years the intakes were around 40-50 yearly.But the website says itself that placement were arour 60% of entire batch.Pls consider as per website. Avg. salary is around 2.8 Lks & highest 8 lks.A batch comprising of only 40 students with such fluctuation in avg. & highest salary indicates that there r students with 1.5-2.4 lks salary ( Which is most i feared !!!) along with 8 lks packg.:(

sorry for being a bit late but was out of the city for my GD-PI's.

2nd phase of placements started a couple of days back for XISS and instead of taking the usual route of looking for official site or official report i went and talked to a couple of my schoolmates there.

the placements are not yet complete , and there would be further interviews (for placements) till 16th or 18th of this month.

most of the offers people are getting are around 20k p.m. translating to roughly 2.4 lakh p.a.

offers have being from pretty much round the country and the companies that visited last year did come this time as well.(which is good).

most of the students of the PM batch have been placed.

will update on the 18th when final placements have taken place.

friends i m Jigar frm Pune....i hav secured 81.840%ile in XAT dis yr.....i m lookin for Finance at XISS, Ranchi....can u ppl plz provide me sum info like....d faculty, placements, avg nd highest salary..... how is XISS, Ranchi for Finance...
i hav checked der site n der is no mention of finance or marketting regarding placements syallabus or faculty.....is XISS a gud coll for finance i knw its gud for PM nd RD.... if u can den plz provide info regarding finance....as dat wud more helpful for me....

why is the cut off for XISS so low? it seems dat they are less worried to take good students but making money :crazyeye:
its placement is also around 2.4 pa. is it a bad institue/??

well got thru to xiss for pm ...............well a lot of the ppl on this thread wana knw abt the placements there for 2008( for the pm course)..........well recruiters were :lehman brothers,tcs,tata steel tata motors,schneider electronics,sab miller,reliance energy,taj hotels,itc,reliance retail,mahindra,tech mahindra,infosys,acc......ok i cant rem any more..............well n abt the salaries..........well the highest was 16.5 lakhs per annum.......the average was ranging from 5 to 6 lakhs...............hope it clears all your doubts............take care guys n chill

quite shocking that this thread is in the hands of those who have known the institute jst by being a part of the city nd not the insti....but really i appreciate the way they have taken the initiative to clear the queries regarding the insti admissions...

well i wud like to clear some of the doubts of a few of my frnz here...
first of all the quality of the students can easily be xplained by the package figure this year...highest being 16.5 offered by lehman bros. and average 4.5 - 5.5...
its not that the students selected here are of low or weak profile...i have 89%ile...had a final call frm Kirloaskar,IBS B'lore, Bimtech, XIME,MNIIT and a few more...but i found XISS to be the best in PM aftr a few counted colgs. in India.

being a student of St. Xaviers Colg which is a neighbour of XISS, i have known this insti for the past three years and have many frnz here who r into a gud company at a gud post.

about the fee structure it has been increased frm 1.5 l to 2.2 lacs this yr for PM.

the infrastructure here is improving dramatically and the insti is to occupy the near building to expand its size.

i wud agree to a fact that mktg, finance and IM being newly launched r not gud but HR is accelerating.

insti has its own gals hostel but boys can arrange their accomodation at nearby lodges.

being in a small city like ranchi,it seems that most of the people r not aware of XISS...i wud love to help those guys nd gals who r keen to know about it....

thats al frm my part now...any queries r most welcome...we al frm 2008-10 batch will try to serve u to our fullest...
