thats why it has failed in making its brand name inspite of having a xavier name attach to it.

ALL THOSE WHO WANT TO APPLY IN XISS NEXT YEAR SHOULD REMEMBER THAT IT ADMITS ONLY THOSE STUDENT WHO HAS PAID MONEY UNDER THE TABLE.
THERE IS A GUY IN XISS RM 2007-2009 BATCH WHO HAS TOLD ME ALL ABOUT THE INSIDE AND OUT SIDE OF XISS.

Well,I guess that old proverb is true..when the cats are away the ,mice will play.We seniors were busy with our SIP thats why we didnt have the time to check this forum, u ppl have taken the idea of voicing your opinion to the next level.You XISS aspirants have shocked me.
You people have the audacity to bad mouth an institute with unfounded allegations.I am a part of XISS(PM) I can say in all honesty that I have got through my merit..and so have my batchmates...this is for those of you benighted souls who feel that none of the PM students have got through on their merit.
If you have not got through that is because you were found inadequate.Here for the PM course importance is given to communication,personality,charisma along with one's acads,work ex etc,because we feel that to succeed as an HR one requires such qualities.Thus your acda,XAT score may be sound but u could have been found wanting in several other parameters.
You people were not compelled to apply to XISS, you shuld also realise that in PM 50% of the seats are kept for Christians n SC/ST.So u ppl are competing for 35 seats.
All your placement statistics are muddled.N just for the record no b school has 100% placements( leaving the IIMS n XLRI)thats just a ruse to fool students.We believe in quality placements....we dont allow just abt any organisation to enter the campus for placements.The previous year we had decent placements-highest 17( lehman)..n lowestwas 4( reliance).Yes we concede this year the recession has hit us.But inspite of that the majority have been placed in decent companies albeit with a lesser package than expected.But things are looking up for our batch.
C this is what I suggest, you people should not levy such accusations,its demeaning n untrueThere is a lot of competition not only to get into PM but also to sustain yourself in PM there is a lot of competition there.Even RD is very stressful.
Not only with regard to this forum but also in your respective lives think before you speak( in this case type).It is afterall a quality that HR professionals require on a daily basis,considering that you people want to do HR.

Well I had got selected for XISS Marketing
But after seeing So many Bad Responses & Accusations made by Different ppl
through out dis Post,I decided to Opt Against Joining d Institute..
More over,None of d Seniors cared to Reply to My Queries!!
So dat Further made Things Tougher for me...
I always thought dat XISS is Surely One of d Few Reputed Prestigious B-Schools in India wid a Brand name of Xavier's Which can always be a Blessing in Disguise:-)
More Over It has Quite a Decent in Fact Relatively Low Fees Which Suited my
Family Background(Middle Class Family).So Once I got thru,I was really happy & excited abt Joining.I did manage to get a seat for Myself(1 out of Total 48 selected in General Category wen Total No of Aspirants for Marketing @ XISS were 378..I say 48 Coz 30 General ppl Got thru in 1st Merit List & 18 More in 2nd Waiting list.
Anyways d Last date for Payment of Fees & Joining XISS was 20th May & Its already Over for me..& Whom Should I blame Now??
I guess Nobody..I dnt have Great B-Schools in my Kitty Yet
But d Average Ones which I Had were
1.XISS-Ranchi
2.ISBM-Pune
3.GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS-Vishakhapatnam
Anyways XISS is already Gone coz d Last Dates for Joining Got over..

Well we apologise for not having replied earlier,thats because the last three month shave been so hectic for us.First our annual fest Panache,then an industrial visit to Jamshedpur( all the Tata grp of companies there) and Bokaro( an industrial town),then our exams and for the last 1.5 months our SIP.( am at Tata Steel).
Well marketing placements are improving.I dont knw the exact figures.But they are good considering there is a recession.Even the summer placements in marketing were good.I myself have ten of my colleagues from marketing with me at Tata Steel( they are getting a stipend-10000,with traveling expenses,and a good project).XISS is also favoured by many PSU's if one applies off campus,thats because we have a strong alumni base in PSUs( esp IOCL,NTPC,ONGC).
Afew people have even badmouthed our faculty.Let me tell you our director as well as the Head of department (PM) were honoured by the Deccan Chronicle in 2008 for their "outstanding achievement in the fields of pm n rd".We have also won numerous awards last year at a National level competition against several b schools(IIMs,LIBA,Symbiosis ...to name a few).
In the marketing department there is a wonderful Head of department.He is a topper from XLRI,pursuing a PHD at present,worked in blue chip companies in India and even had a short stint abroad.It would have been a pleasure for you to have him as your faculty.Anyway,I agree that this year the competition has increased for the seats.Thats because we mostly got good entries...n we had to choose the best from them.I know of a girl who got selected,she is not only good at acads,her XAT score was high n she is an award winning singer as well( accomplishments such as that help securing a seat).she is also a Christian minority,with good communication skills.That is the sort of applicant that usually gets through.Your commitment to the ideology of XISS also helps,you should know what its aim is.

hello friends and seniors,this is my first post here,though i have been following pagalguy forum for quite some time.I have calculated my XAT scores through test funda and scores are absolutely atrocious as follows
VALR 8.5/31(27.42%)
DIQA -1.75/40(-4.38%):banghead:
ARDM 11/30(36.67%)
TOTAL 17.75/101
and test funda predicted a percentile of 52.98
with this score can i get a call from XISS,career launcher is saying that XISS does not consider sectionals,is it true?and can i get a call with 17.75 as my tentative score?also i have negative marks in the DIQA section,will this pose a problem even if i clear the cutoff marks required to get a call from here,if there are no sectionals??please help me
.do i stand atleast a slim chance in getting a call from XISS?

i think you'll easily get a call from xiss...but i guess you can always apply after the declaration of xat results...
its more sensible that way...you'll get to know where you stand
in any case getting a call from xiss wont be difficult...but converting it can be
