Hi Seniors,
Please throw some light on the placements of XISS. What were the highest package n lowest packages of different courses last year.
PM of XISS is more popular than other courses it offers. But I am more interested in Marketing and Finance. So please tell me the placements of all.
my XAt 2011 result is
Verbal Ability 38.58
Quantitative Ability 88.99
Reasoning & Decision Making Ability 93.87
Total Percentile 87.37
Also tell me does it considers sectional cut offs.???

No sectional cut-offs mate....
Comparatively, the placement of PM & RD is far more better than Marketing & Finance..
The quality of faculty is also one area where, PM & RD has an advantage...

Whosoever has got more than 30 %ile has got a very high chance of getting a call from XISS..
But, for PM & RD, you cant be certain at such low percentile, but its always wise to take chances;)
Your final conversion, if you get a call for PM & RD, primarily depends on your PI & to an extent GD..It might sound more of a cliche, but then, this is the truth...

From this year, we have a centralised placement committee & hence the placement scene is quite rosy this year, when one compares it with the past few years..
However, to be very frank, placements are not 100% in finance(for that matter Marketing, Information Management)...
This year, a lot of good companies are coming for finance..

You will get a call for sure.......Go ahead and apply.........You will get calls for all the courses...But PM and RD are the two best courses in XISS.......
Placements for PM is decent..........Rd is altogether a different course...If you don't have a liking for Rural sector please do not apply......
Average package for PM hovers around the 4-5 lacs mark..........

Well there is a healthy mix of freshers and work experience.........I am not sure about the average work experience of the batch....If you have work experience of 2 years its good enough...But be prepared because you will be grilled with questions relating to your job.........
And the course is PM not PMIR..............

Buddy you have a good percentile....If you have a balanced sectional score then you have a very good chance at LIBA,XIME,SPJain,Welingkar,provided you have applied to these institutes....May be a call from GIM as well....
I would simply say if you want to have a career in HR,then you can apply to XISS....Otherwise explore other options............

Your Question is vry debatable .Both the courses are different. U can't compare these two courses.........
RD program at XISS is only one of its kind in the country, and probably the world............:cheerio:

As of finance & other courses, you won't get seniors from XISS to help here at pagalguy(don't know why)..
In our batch, around 20% batch has work-experience.. But what is given more weightage here is your inclination towards the course & how well you justify it..
At 93.5%ile, you better go for GIM,LIBA,XIME,IFMR,etc bro...you hold a gud chance, if you perform fairly well in their later stages of admission process...
