hi anand i am ankit tiwari wl no 4 in bm. you can send the dd without receiving the letter also. but my advise is to wait for 2-3 days. still if you do not receive the letter then you can phone them and then send the dd. btw what is your wl no. and in which program. if your wl no. is less than 55 in bm or less than 25-30 in pmir then you can send the dd. the letter says send a dd worth 20000 in favour of xlri jamshedpur payable at sbi,xlri branch, jamshedpur(branch code no. 4660). hope to meet you in jamshedpur. regards ankit.

Some Clarifications : This Ananlysis may not be really different from the previous one. But still I have many people who are not making their decision clear. So please hold on ... Lot more is expected ( i am still hopeful).... So as per the current scenario, we have WL 18 at the top of the stack..... If all the doubtful guys respond, I expect this number to go upto WL 25. thats a very healthy and a prominent number. So at the end of the process, we may have it extend till 60 this year tooo. Can you enlighten me on the effects of the final results of the various IIMs.....still there are many guys who had iim calls and were waiting for the results to be out ???

I believe this is not the case with XLRI. Even then do confirm with the XL office or some senior.
One more point, my roommate, Kunal Ahuja, has confirmed BM call and he is joining....so th no of joinees increases by one

I agree man ! I am not able to get a holistic picture in PG. But the Idea is that the names and the nicks are very different in PG and Yahoo...So Just by pulling more people in from Yahoo group means that I am gonna have many overalaps... Which is gonna skew up my analysis(which has been very genuine... No stat here has been exagerrated)...So adding more guys from Yahoo groups is a nice idea ... I am thinking of how to avoid this obvious overlap ! suggest me some idea !

Again Yahooo group has only 36 BM guys and I was able to get hold of around 75 guys in PG...I hope that the trend is a lot similar in the other half of the sample ....
Keep up ur good work.Eventhough I was the one who started this thread, I haven't contributed much.But I do have some interesting statistics.As I can see from Kuber's poll around 25 people are not joining excluding CA4IIMa and couple of others.This leaves around 40 people ahead of me.But the no of people from PG into IIMA is around 40-50.Where are the remaining 150-160 people.Similar case in Banglore and in Calcutta(each having 250 seats).Assuming 20% of this crowd has an XL call because XL being similar to CAT this year, it easily crosses 100 people.But due to overlap and some people prefering XL over IIMI and IIMK, I think the waitlist should move around 80:huh:.Moreover there are lots pf people in PG itself who have got multiple IIM cals but haven't mentioned anything abt XL calls.I am sure atleast 10% of these people have XL calls becuse most guys would have converted it.This missing crowd will determine whether I get into XL or not.Let's hope for the best.

hey ban,
i called up xlri office yday, and the lady there checked my name and w/l no in the list she had...acc. to her, they had dispatched the letters 3-4 days back and we had to send in the dd before 20th apr ( last date for recieving that is..) What i intend to do is, make a dd, and make a letter along with it, stating my problem+ a copy of my xat id and interview call letter, and send them to xlri by 14th..
If u have any better ideas do lemme know...
btw u r frm chandigarh and i am frm jodhpur, rajasthan...it wud take aleast 3 working days for our post to reach xlri.

Hey Anand, Don't worry....Many courier services promise to deliver in Two Working Days I made my courier on Saturday evening and the transit started Yesterday morning(The courier service had the tracking facility)

Dude i got lucky..received the letter today itself at my hometown...don worry maan..i called up the xlri office and they had said that in case i don receive the letter i can still send the draft alongwith a covering letter and xerox of xat scorecard and interview call letter...waise they were sayin ki i shud wait till 14th and then send it across..so i suppose u'r letter must be on its way to u..just chk with the courier service man...don worry yaar though i know u'll be in a bit of fix....but still...relax...

and yes, u can remove QuintEssence from the list of possible XL BM batch of 2005 and 2007. i have decided that XL is not for me

Fine ya ! Your argument looks fine ..... To be more precise , things look a lot more flowery on paper --> But the Reality cannot be predicted .... So to stay on a hopeful side I expect the WL for BM to move till early 60s and PMIR till around 25 ... I will not bid for more because .. I am skeptical about the the pattern i have seen in my analysis repeating itself with the other half of the sampling... I dunno what you have on ur plate ( i mean ur WL number) ... So just relax .....
