UPSC CISF AC LDCE 2020

The Union Public Service Commission, or UPSC, is an institution established by the government of India. It functions as India’s premier recruitment body, as the opportunities provided by directly inducts candidates into high ranking posts of the IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. The commission has been empowered to control the entire examination process, manage the organisation of the exams and take decisions with regard to the examination details.

Among the number of examinations conducted by UPSC, one is that of the CISF AC LDCE. This examination is conducted for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Executive) (AC – EXE) in the Central Industrial Security Force  (CISF). The CISF AC exam is a Limited Department Competitive Exam (LDCE).

While the recruitment of CISF AC 2019 is complete, candidates are awaiting the notification regarding CISF AC LDCE for 2020. The notification is expected to be released by the UPSC in the first week of December, tentatively on 4th December 2019.

Once the notification is released, candidates will be able to get some clarity and detailed information with regard to the exact number of vacancies, date of the examination etc.

While making the application for the post, it is important that the candidates check the eligibility criteria. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria will lead to the disqualification of the candidates. Some qualifications to be noted are –

  1. Candidate should be a graduate from a recognised university.
  2. One should not be more than 35 years of age as on 1st August 2020.
  3. They should possess an NCC B or C professional certificate. However, it will only be considered during the personal interview.
  4. Candidates will only be able to attempt the exam for more than times.

The selection process for the post will be divided into 4 parts –

  1. Candidates will first have to appear for Paper 1. This paper is an objective paper comprising of only Multiple Choice Questions. A time period of two and half hours are allotted to the candidates. The 300 marks paper comprises of questions from General Intelligence and Ability and professional skills.
  2. After qualifying in Paper 1, candidates have to appear for Paper 2. This is a descriptive paper which tests the writing skills of the candidates through essays, paragraphs and comprehension based questions. The 2-hour paper is for 100 marks.
  3. By appearing for Paper 2, candidates will be able to qualify for the Physical Efficient Test (PET). This test does not carry any marks as it is qualifying in nature. Anybody who meets the given physical standards can proceed to the final stage of selection.
  4. The final stage of selection is Personal Interview. Carrying a total of 200 marks, candidates will be questioned both on their specific field of study and about their general interests. Candidates’ awareness about society will also be tested.

In order to make the application, the exact procedure will be stated in the notification. Candidates will, however, have to do it through UPSC’s official website. The use of Common Application Form can be made by candidates who live in remote areas and cannot apply through the online portal.

While an application fee of Rs 100 is charged from General and OBC candidates, candidates from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, persons with disability and female candidates are exempted from any fee payment. The fees will only be accepted through the online options like a credit card, debit card or net banking.

Candidates can expect that the exams will begin from March 2020, with the final exam tentatively taking place in the month of July 2020.
