About College
On September 4th, 1978, Anna University Chennai was founded. C.N. Annadurai, the university's founder, was at the time Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister. In 2001, it underwent conversion to become a member institution.
Under Anna University, there are several Constituent Colleges, Regional Campuses, and Affiliated Colleges. The institution offers a wide variety of UG, PG, and doctorate academic courses. The university is ranked 85th out of all universities by the BRICS countries.
With a 3.46 cumulative grade point average and an "A," NAAC has reaccredited the university. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the university was rated 10th in the nation in 2018.

The College of Engineering (Guindy Campus), the Madras Institute of Technology (Chrompet Campus), the Alagappa College of Technology, and the School of Architecture and Planning are the four university departments. The QS World University Rankings for 2018 placed Anna University in the range of 651–700, which was regarded as the university's global ranking.
The University Grants Commission has designated it as a "University with Potential for Excellence (UPE)" (UGC). On a nationwide basis, Anna University College is ranked seventh, which is also how Anna University is ranked in India.
