B-School Admission interview!
The Interview is indeed the last step, the last stretch and the toughest round to clear. This is because despite months of preparation, no one can predict the questions you’ll have to face in your personal interview. But we all know that Questions will be from Personal life, Qualification, Job Experience, Extra curricular Activites, Hobbiles & Interest, Strength & Weaknesses, Goal or Ambition, Genral awarness, Subject knowledge Etc.
Few questions one can definetly prepare before interview are: –
1) Introduce your self or tell me something about youself: –
The most commonly asked question 1st question in an interview. it should be a synopisis of your resume. It should include a brief about you academics, a bit of family background, hobbies & interest, Strengths, Ambition or Goal in life.
2) Why MBA?
If you are a fresher, your answer could be that an MBA would be your ideal launch pad into the corporate world. Since MBA will impart necessary set of skills required, will polish intra personal skills that you have. Will also give you and insight about the corporate world and transform you from an individual to a professionsl.
3) What are your short term and long term Goals?
Short term Goals (3-5 years): – Short term goal is to aquires set of skills required, get knowledge about the corporate world and then gain experience by getting a job suitable to your knowlege and skills.
Long term Goal (5-10 years): – To excel in my choosen feild (can mention your prefered specilization) or share about your dream business project if you have any.
4) what are you Strenghts and weaknesses?
Strengths: – you should sound ambitious, hardworking, dedicated, eager to learn more, innovative, Etc. don’t just give words explain them
Weaknesses: – you must justify all your weaknesses….support them with at least 1 statement. Eg:- slow starter … I take time to plan things before doing.
Over ambitious: – Have set high goals for my self,
5) If questions are about Genral awarness or social issue: – Adopt diplomacy dont go for extreme solutions. be your self and speak with in the age group you belong to. dont give larger then life answers. be modest in giving alternative slutions.
