Bansal Classes puts its student on billboard, claims he will top Math in JEE Mains 2016
It seldom happens that a coaching institute goes over the top to market itself but for Bansal Classes in Kota, this exception is a rule. Last year, they put up billboards across the coaching capital announcing one of its student Satwat Jagwani as All India Topper of JEE Advanced 2015 much before the result was out. He eventually topped the exam and scored full marks in Physics section of the paper.
Taking a cue from last year, the coaching institute has put up billboards around the town to announce how Mankaran Singh, a student from its current batch of engineering aspirants, is all set to ace JEE Mains 2016 by scoring full marks in the Mathematics section of the paper. The advertisement also has a picture of last year’s JEE Advanced topper to add credence to its claims.
It is a smart marketing strategy to attract prospective students, who are camping in the town to zero in on the coaching institute, in the ongoing admission season.
Bansal Classes, however, refused to label it as an attention-grabbing marketing move. “Kota has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the past few months. It is a small step to instil positivity among the students. We want to reaffirm their faith in coaching institutes here and tell them that all said and done, we are doing whatever it takes to get you into the engineering institute of your choice,” said AK Tiwari, Administrative Head of Bansal Classes, Kota.
When asked why did they go all the way to announce Mankaran as the top scorer in Mathematics just a day before the results are to be declared, he said, “Mankaran is a brilliant student of our institute. He approached us after matching his score with the answer key of JEE Mains and found to have scored full marks in Mathematics subject. It is an incredible feat, and we want to highlight it.”
The other institutes, however, have refrained from making such tall claims. They are waiting for the results to be declared tomorrow.
