GATE 2017 authorities have extended the deadline of the online form submission from October 4, 2017 to October 10, 2017. “A lot of students wait for the last minute and this has led to increased traffic. This measure was done to ease that up a bit.” says Pof. A. Chatterjee, from IIT Bombay.
This trend of last minute traffic was noticed despite the reminder, students received from the GATE 2017 website, to not wait until the last moment for the online submission of forms.
The GATE aspirants are, obviously, happy about the extension in the deadlines. A student from Mumbai, Prakash Singh admits that he is yet to submit the form. “There were some issues while uploading the form a couple of days ago so I hadn’t completed the submission. And now, the server is down. I am glad they extended the deadlines,” he says. Ask him why he waited until the last minute and the answer is already known excuse, “Busy with other work!”
