IIFT Selection Procedure 2019
The IIFT exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade located in New Delhi. The New Delhi campus and the Kolkata campus combined offer 600 seats for the students aspiring to pursue management courses like MBA and IB. the University is well reputed and candidates from all over the nation compete with each other to get one seat in the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The aspirants first need to give the IIFT exam which took place on 2nd of December 2018. The candidates who are able to clear the cut off for the exam are then called for the written ability test and the group discussion and personal interview. The candidates who are able to impress the authorities are then finally selected to be the students of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in one of their two campuses in New Delhi and Kolkata. The 2019 selection process will proceed only after the results are out of the IIFT examination. The results for the 2019 IIFT exam will be out in the last week of December or first week of January. 1.Exam
The first step that one needs to clear is the IIFT exam. It is a pen and paper-based examination. The question paper is divided into six sections that test the candidate on their knowledge over English comprehension, quantitative ability, logical reasoning, general awareness, data interpretation and verbal ability. The exam is not very difficult if one is confident enough and well prepared for it.
2.Essay writing
The second stage is reached by only those candidates that were able to clear all the section cut offs put forth by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. The students are given a set of topics to write about. This tests the candidates’ power and control over the written English language and will test his or her skills for writing English.
3.Group discussion
The candidates are then separated into groups and taken in individual rooms. The candidates are given a topic that they need to discuss among themselves. This stage tests the leadership qualities of the candidate and showcases how they will act with a team. Teamwork and leadership both go hand in hand and a group discussion the perfect way to test these qualities in a person.
4.Personal interview
The candidates then need to give personal interviews. The authorities and seniors will ask a few questions about the candidate and about the technical knowledge gained by the candidate. Remaining calm and collected and answering every question with confidence is the key to clear this stage. The candidate should give some time to think about every question asked to them and answer slowly and with confidence. This stage tests the individual communication skills of the candidate and proves if the candidate is worthy enough to be a part of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
