IIM Kozhikode Final Placements 2012-14: 28% batch recruited for Sales & Marketing roles, Cognizant leading recruiter

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode recently finished its placements for the PGP class of 2014 with 108 companies making offers for a total strength of 348 students. Four students opted out of the placement process. The institute told PaGaLGuY that one of the students is 54-year old Sudhir Kumar who was not able to find relevant roles on campus. The others opted out to pursue opportunities through personal contacts or join family-run businesses. International roles were offered to 33 students.

Cognizant Business Consulting (16 offers) KPMG (11 offers) were the two largest recruiters followed by IBM Consulting, Deloitte and Goldman Sachs who made 10 offers each. Sales & marketing was the leading function hiring 28% of the batch. The institute informed that the average salary of the batch was Rs 13.7 lakhs per annum.

Consulting: Avalon Consulting, IBM Consulting, KPMG, Cognizant Business Consulting recruited students for this function. PwC and Deloitte offered Strategy Consulting roles.

Finance: Deutsche Bank offered Corporate Finance and Markets profiles while Goldman Sachs offered roles in Investment Banking, Asset Management and Portfolio Solutions. Dell Financial Services recruited for the Financial Global Leadership Programme. Citibank, CRISIL, JPMC, Nomura, SBI Caps, HSBC and American Express were some of the other companies which hired for this function.

General Management: Reliance, L&T;, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, TAS and Ranbaxy were some of the companies which offered roles in this function. Cipla recruted for their Leadership Programme while RPG offerd a KEC profile. Mahindra & Mahindra hired one student as executive assistant to the Chief Brand Manager and Group Strategy Head – Defense Sector.

Sales & Marketing: HUL, ITC, Kelloggs, Samsung, Vodafone, Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Emami, GSK Pharma, Asian Paints, Amul, Tata Steel, UB Group, Pepsico, Pidilite and Raymond offered roles in the Sales & Marketing domain.

IT & ITES: Google offered an Accounts Optimizer role while Amazon hired students for Capacity Planning Analyst roles. Microsoft, Accenture Technology Services, Fidelity Investments, Capgemini, LatentView Analytics, Mahindra Comviva, HCL, Wipro and TCS were some of the other comapnies which recruited for IT/ITES roles.

Strategy/Operations: Amazon offered Analyst roles. Asian Paints, Anand Bazaar Patrika, Matrimony.com, Anand Bazaar Patrika, TVS Logistics, Unisys, Flipkart, HCCB, ING Vysya and National Stock Exchange recruited for Strategy/Operations roles.
