IIT-B launches portal to help JEE Advanced 2016 aspirants
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), has a Student Mentor Program where junior students are mentored by their seniors. The seniors not only help freshers settle into the Institute but also assist in resolving their problems while on campus. And to make this process smoother, IIT-B has launched a website to help the prospective students choose the engineering stream wisely.
Those who have cleared JEE Advanced this year and are hoping to get into IIT-B can log on to the website for information related to the admission process. It lists important dates that the applicants should keep in mind and has information about various courses, hostels and other facilities offered by IIT-B.
“Students end up choosing the branches on the basis of previous year’s trends and cut-offs. Some of them later regret their decision as it turns out to be a lot different from their expectations. The website gives a holistic picture of the academic scenario and campus life at IIT-B. We hope it helps students in making an informed choice,” said Akshay Agarwal, a student leading the Student Mentor Program at IIT-B.
