Institute of Management, Nirma University (IMNU) Highlights:: Prayojan, the Operations Conclave
The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. Himanshu Trivedi, VP and Technical Plant Manager, Bosch Rexroth (India) Ltd., Ahmedabad. The theme of the first session was “Passion for Manufacturing Excellence- The Need for Make In India”. He spoke about how the need of the hour is to increase the competence of graduating students, increase passion for organisational excellence and to develop overall spirit of the Make in India initiative across the nation thereby facilitating the vision of India becoming a developed nation in the coming years.
The second session started with the speech of Mr. Dhruvil Sanghvi, CEO and Co-Founder, LogiNext, Mumbai. Mr. Sanghvi talked about how logistics in India can be taken to the next level.
Mr. Manoj Karkhanis, Principal Consultant, Multiknack Consultancy Services, Mumbai was the speaker for the third session. He emphasised upon the importance of creating ‘Quality Consciousness’ by understanding the global expectations of quality and left the students with the the thought that building a Quality Culture was of utmost importance for the holistic development of the industry.
The speaker for session four was Mr. Alok Bhadauria, Senior Manager,Arvind mills, Ahmedabad. He talked about “Make in India- Opportunities and challenges with specific references to textile industry”. In today’s context various factors like stable government at center and states, strong political will, good international relations, cheap labor force are working in the favor of India. Agriculture sector which accounts for 17% of the total exports and 4% of the GDP directly employs 45 Million People. He identified poor infrastructure, technological backwardness &unorganized sector and lower share in Global exports as the major challenges or textile sector.
The last session was addressed by Mr. Vijay Sharma, Associate VP and Head Operations, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd, Ahmedabad. He spoke about Reverse Innovation. He shared his vast experience of 19 plus years in the FMCG sector. He shared the latest trends used by companies to expand in the growing economies. Reverse Innovation is the latest technology used by the industry to produce value for money products and sell them in the growing economics like India and China. These products are developed first in the developing countries and then they are transferred to the already developed and industrialized nations. Thus the products are cheap but the quality is also maintained. So it is future of all the industries.
