ITBP Recruitment 2019-Apply Online for 496 Vacancies
(ITBP) Indo-Tibetan Border Police is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 Oct 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was intended for deployment along India’s border with Tibet.
The ITBP, which started with four battalions, has since restructuring in 1978 has undergone expansion to a force of 60 Battalions with 15 Sectors and 05 Frontiers as of 2018 with a sanctioned strength of 89,432.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force has issued notifications for recruiting eligible candidates to the Group ‘A’ post of Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second in Command), Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant) and Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) in Central Armed Police Forces (ITBP, BSF, CRPF, SSB and Assam Rifles). Essential Qualification
Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command)
- Graduate degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized university/Institution.
- Candidate must have enrolled in any State Medical Register maintained under the Act
- Candidate should have completed compulsory rotatory internship
- Candidate must possess Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in related Speciality as mentioned in Section ‘A’ or Section ‘B’ in Schedule I to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 or equivalent, and
- Candidate must possess Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurgie (M.Ch.) or equivalent.
Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant)
- Medical Qualification of allopathic system of medicines
- Completion of rotating internship
- Must possess Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in concerned speciality.
Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant)
- Medical Qualification of allopathic system of medicines
- Completion of rotating internship

Maximum: 50 years
Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant)
Maximum: 40 years
Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant)
Maximum: 30 years
Upper Age limit is relaxable by:
3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer).
5 years for SC/ST candidates.
