KIIT University: Admissions to School of Management & Rural Management

Both the schools are fully equipped to be in the league of the top twenty B-schools in the country with new academic inputs, soft skills development programs and numerous new initiatives, which are already underway. Also, the schools boost their faculty resources through visiting faculty, corporate tie-ups, guest lectures and two seminar series viz. Knowledge Seminar Series and Corporate Seminar Series. Students are able to register across electives offered by both schools, a dual arrangement devised to provide benefit to students of both schools. The campus resources and facilities adequately support the academic and extra-curricular activities of the schools. Students also have access to the sports and medical facilities of the University.

School of Management

MBA is the School of Managementas largest programme with an annual intake of 240 students from across the country. The other programmes offered by the school include BBA, Executive MBA and Diploma in Insurance & Banking in collaboration with ICICI Bank. The re-launching of Executive MBA in a new format and introduction of Diploma Programmes in Retail Management to address emerging requirements of the industry are also proposed.

The two-year MBA Program offers a radically different learning experience for prospective managers of the new century. The newly designed and highly flexible curriculum integrates the latest developments in management, business practice and allows unlimited opportunities for self-directed learning.

School of Management and School of Rural Management constitute an architectural masterpiece that combines shape and form with a pleasant symmetry of colours.

The MBA Programme is a full-time residential programme and all the students are required to stay in the hostel. The separate hostels for boys and girls have a provision for 24 hours wireless internet connectivity and provide a professional environment for work.

Placements

India’s most sought after companies in the private and public sector regularly recruit students from both the schools. In 2008 more than 40 prestigious companies recruited students. KIIT MBAs pursue a wide range of high potential careers in a wide range of companies.

Programme Fee

The total fee for the programme is Rs.7.50 lakhs. This is payable in two installments and it covers all expenses including a laptop for every student.

School of Rural Management

The impressive economic growth in India in the last decade, notwithstanding the level of rural poverty and unemployment, remains high and the problem of rural-urban disparity continues to exacerbate. It is in this context that the School of Rural Management (SRM) has been conceived and the current rural development need of the country has been kept in view.

 

Campus Facilities

KIIT University

The new academic complex with its unique architectural design integrates well with the theme of the school. The 45,000 square foot building has six technologically equipped class rooms, four syndicate study room, spacious faculty offices and common spaces.
The SRM is a full-time residential programme and all the students are required to stay in the hostel. The state of art SRM hostels with all modern facilities are under construction and ready for possession in November, 2008.

Faculty

The School of Rural Management has 12 faculty members with many years of diverse experience in the field of rural management. SRM also gets faculty support from SOM in terms of functional areas. The strength of the faculty is likely to go up to 20 before the start of the 2008-09 academic session.

MBA in Rural Management (MRM)

MRM is the flagship programme of the School. It prepares students for managerial positions to professionalize the management of a wide variety of institutions working for the rural areas.

Curriculum Design

MRM Programme is designed to balance academics with experiential learning and has two specific segments a Class Room Segment (CRS) which is spread over 55 weeks of academics in five terms and Field Work Segment (FWS) of 33 weeks in three components. The three FWS components are designed in a progressive manner with Village Study Segment in year one and Management Traineeship Segment (MTS) I and II in year two.

The MRM Programme comprises of core management subjects like marketing, finance and HR as well as focused learning in the areas of agri-business management, rural development management, rural marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). About 40 percent of the total programme is devoted to experiential and practice oriented learning.

Placement

The first batch of MRM programme will be placed in the year 2009. Their confidence to give a flying start to the placement programme for the first batch (2007-09) emanates from the extent of support they have received for their academic programme, particularly so from industry and development organizations in field segments.

Programme Fees

The total fee for the two year programme is Rs 6.47 lakhs payable in two instalments which covers all expenses including provision of a laptop for every student.

Eligibility

Graduation in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and minimum of 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) in graduation.

Admission Process

Successful candidates will be intimated about their final selection through an admission offer letter containing the terms and condition of the admission. For the offer to be valid, the selected candidates are required to confirm and accept the offer with the terms and conditions for taking admission to the programme through an aAcceptance Lettera along with a demand draft for Rs. 30,000/- favouring aKIIT School of Managementa or aSchool of Rural Managementa as the case may be. The draft should be payable at Bhuvaneshwar and be towards the admission fees.

Candidates can also register for KIITEE a MANAGEMENT 2009 online by logging on to http://www.kiitee.ac.in.

The completed application form should reach the Director Admissions, KIIT University, Campus a 1, Bhubaneswar – 751024 on or before November 24, 2008. Candidates applying to both the schools will fill one form and pay an application fee of Rs. 2,000.

Instructions will be given to candidates along with the admit card and the same will be available on KIIT website. Any correspondence or query regarding KIITEE-MANAGEMENT 2009 afterwards may be addressed by quoting this Admit Card/Hall Ticket Number only.
