Legal Notice to CBSE for Charging Processing Fees for Students from Other Boards
A processing fee of Rs. 5000 on class 11th students migrating from other state boards being charged by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Based on this Advocate, Ashok Agarwal has served a legal notice to the CBSE. The legal opinion is based on two student’s complaints from Bhalswa village of Delhi.
The students qualified through the board exam of National Institute of Open Schooling or NIOS and took admission in Delhi Government School. Delhi has no independent state board. So, all the schools and colleges in Delhi are affiliated to CBSE. Thus, the conditional fee is ‘unconstitutional and arbitrary’.
The CBSE spokesperson said that there is no processing fee for class 9th and 11th if the number of students is 40 and the admission is made within the time limit. The processing charge is imposed if the registration is done after the due date. The fee will be Rs. 1000 and not Rs. 5000.
Although, there is an internal investigation going on this matter. We will update you soon on further information. Till then stay tuned to www.pagalguy.com .
