NEET 2016: Important instructions for qualified Physically Handicapped candidates for all India seats

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released mandatory instructions for Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates to secure admission in MBBS and BDS Undergraduate courses under the 15% all India quota seats.  

Approximately 3% seats are reserved for PH candidates (for locomotor disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%) under the 15% All India Quota.

Qualified candidates should note that they are required to produce a Disability Certificate from one of the disability assessment boards only. The certificate issued by any other hospital/ board will not be accepted by the MCC. The four constituted boards’ are-

    • Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, Ansari Nagar, Ring Road, New Delhi-110029 (Tel No.011-26190763 & 26163072)
    • All India Institute of Physically Medicine and Rehabilitation, Hazi Ali Park, K. Khadya Marg, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai- 400034 (Tel No.022- 23544341)
    • Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, 244, Acharya J.C. Bose Marg, Kolkata-20 (Tel No.033- 22235181)
    • Madras Medical College, Park Town, Chennai-600003 (Tel No.044 -25305301)

Candidates are advised to get the prescribed certificate before the scheduled date of online counselling, August 22, 2016.

Immediately after obtaining the PH certificate candidates must send a scanned copy of the certificate through e-mail to [email protected] and another self-attested photo-copy can be sent by speed post  to the address below-

On the overleaf of the certificate, the candidates must mention their name, address, All India Rank (AIR), category, mobile number/contact telephone number and e-mail address.

PH candidates are required to carry their treatment papers related to their disability, including the investigation reports, at the time of reporting to the above mentioned designated institute authorised to issue disability certificate. Other than the certificate, candidates should also fulfil other eligibility conditions to secure admission under 15% All India Quota seats in the PH category.
