NEET PG afternoon session examination deferred in Chennai due to cyclonic storm ‘Vardah’
Due to heavy rainfall amidst the ongoing cyclone ‘Vardah’ in Chennai, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG afternoon session examination for today has been deferred. Dr. Bipin Batra, Executive Director, National Board of Education (NBE) tweeted earlier today that the examination will be deferred till tomorrow for all the six test centres in Chennai. It has been raining in Chennai and the nearby areas since late Sunday night.
Medicos taking their NEET PG examination were worried about their arrangements to reach their respective test centres due to the heavy rainfall. One such candidate informed PaGaLGuY that his morning session examination at the EduSurge, Ambattur test centre in Chennai was delayed due to power failure. “The centre personnel informed that the generators were not working due to the heavy rain and they do not have any back-up power plan,” said the candidate. He added that the morning session examination in his test centre began after 11:30 am.
However, the afternoon session of the examination stood cancelled by the National Board of Education, keeping in mind the deteriorating situation in Chennai with regards to the cyclone, as the day progressed. Candidates who were supposed to sit for the examination in the afternoon session today, will have to report to the same test centre at same time tomorrow. There is no need for fresh admit cards as well.
The NEET PG examination got cancelled on December 6 as well, after the demise of Tamil Nadu CM, J Jayalalithaa on December 5. It was rescheduled in the different test centres of Tamil Nadu on different dates. The NEET PG examination, which started on December 5, will conclude tomorrow on December 13.
