NO One Asked WHY Engg?
While attending a class on the interview session, teacher told me there is a “DABBA” when a candidate is a male, engineer and from IT background. Unfortunately I was the prefect example of that box, and he asked for the DABBAS to outperform others by making high claims on your form, which caught me into the puzzle of Why MBA?
I do believe the importance of this question for checking on our commitment and future goals. But are the MBA institutions the only place where you have to exhibit such high commitment and be ready to be grilled upon the question again and again. Why don’t they ask people why politics before giving them tickets? I mean they run our governments. Or Why don’t they ask in graduation, why this or that course?
I think this DABBA is created by our education system only, What if they had asked me why engg? I must have known at least why I have become such a stereotype, it’s like I don’t have to tell people and they know “Oh…studying for MBA, Engineer!”
Its not like I don’t have my motive to pursue MBA, yes I do have a dream like many others to start my own business someday and believe MBA is the primary goal towards that dream. But how do I justify that point only time will tell.
