RRB JE Mathematics Preparation Tips
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is yet to conduct the recruitment exams for the Junior Engineers (JE) tentatively in the month of April/ May 2019. For this year, the board announced for 13,487 vacancies. In this article, let’s have a look at the preparation for the Mathematics section.
Before looking for the preparation of RRB JE Mathematics section, it is necessary that the candidates must be aware of the exam pattern. The exam will be held in two stages. They are as follows:
1. Computer Based Test Stage I:

The duration of the CBT I exam is 90 minutes. The candidates who are able to clear the stage I of the CBT will be allowed to appear for the Stage II exam. In order to qualify in the CBT I, the candidates must clear the cutoff marks as fixed by the exam authority. Following is the exam pattern:

The time duration for the CBT II exam is for 120 minutes. Each question will comprise of one mark and for each wrong answer, 1/3 marks will be subtracted from the marks allotted for each question as there is negative marking applicable.
After qualifying in both the stages, the candidates will be called for document verification process where the candidates must be required to submit the necessary documents as requested by the exam board. After all the above-mentioned process, the candidates will be recruited for the post of RRB JE.

Tips to prepare:
- Note down the important formulas, concepts & tricks to remember them for a long time.
- The section involves lots of practice so as to apply the required formulas properly.
- In order to solve the problems fastly, the candidates can learn cube roots & square roots up to 15, cube values up to 10, tables up to 25, etc.
- Practice short tricks to remember theorems and formulas in order to save time while solving problems.
- The candidates must attempt mock tests regularly in order to analyze the performance level and to improve them.
- Trying the Previous year question paper also is very important in order to know about the difficulty level of the exam.
- Just allow time to complete a particular number of questions and analyze whether you are able to complete the questions within the time.
- Have a look at the syllabus and start to prepare for the exam so that you can cover the topics that need to be concentrated.
- Concentrate more on your weak areas and allow maximum time to cover them try to solve more problems to improve and strengthen your strong areas.
- Aware of the weight-age of marks and prepare for the exam accordingly.
General preparation tips for RRB JE:
- Start with easy problems and then move slowly towards the difficult problems. Then, try to solve as much number f problems you can in each topic.
- Revision is a must for any of the sections in order to remember the topics for a long period of time.
- Time management is yet another factor to be kept in mind so solve each question with a minimum amount of time in order to improve the speed of solving each question.
- Accuracy is more vital to score good marks in the exam. While attempting the questions in the exam, answer only the questions you are sure about as there are negative markings applicable.
- Provide equal importance to each section, while preparing for the exams.
