Sixteen-year-old NEET aspirant commits suicide in coaching capital Kota
A student preparing for the medical entrance examination has committed suicide in Kota. Sneha Suman (16), a student of Allen Coaching Classes was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her hostel room in Mahaveer Nagar locality of Kota City on Monday night by her fellow hostel-mates who had gone to call her for dinner.
Kota City Police informed that the suicide victim was a resident of the Khagaria district of Bihar who had arrived in Kota last year for coaching for the pre-medical entrance examination and was presently studying in class 11th in the city.
Investigation Officer and Assistant Sub Inspector, Mahaveer Nagar Police Station, Kota, Ramswaroop said that Sneha’s family had been informed of the tragedy and they are on their way from Khagaria to Kota. When asked about the cause of suicide, he said that the police are investigating the case, but no reason has been identified as yet as no suicide note has been recovered. The postmortem of the deceased will be conducted upon the arrival of her parents.
It has been almost one-and-a-half month since the last suicide in India’s coaching capital, and Monday’s tragedy takes the toll of students who have committed suicide in Kota to a dozen (12) this year.
