SSC CGL Interview Tips: HOBBY
I have seen many posts on queries related to Hobbies that I felt to talk about it in a separate post rather than commenting on individual posts. So here it is.
Although SSC in not a hot shot employer like UPSC/RBI/some good private sector jobs/high ranked Educational institutions. But then there are a few good job opportunities there. Moreover the interviewer needs to feel a little good about the candidate he is interviewing. So, guys, please give a little importance to this one.
A Hobby is like your Portable Hard-disk. What you store in it, you will be filled with it. You just can’t hide it. Thats why a friend just asked about “online shopping” or “watching Cricket”. This was so honest of him/her. Another way to say this is that, a hobby is your subconscious right in front of you. So, you can consciously lie about you in all the questions, but in the hobby you spit the the truth out. So, you better be careful with it. Let it be a thing by which you can sell yourself. Say reading, writing, debating, singing, dancing, playing cricket as a spinner/slip fielder, etc. There are not only qualitative hobbies to speak of, but they also speak volumes about your self worth. But remember to be specific with all of them. You can’t just say singing. It has to be classifical/Jazz/ Thumri/ Ghazals, etc.
I know many who are applying for SSC are bakchods like me with no real hobby to present. For people like us, just a tip. DON’T take is lightly. Take any thing that you have worked on sometime in past and have achieved something in it. And work around it. Like I say singling. I almost give the interviewer a pust that he can ask me to sing a song. And although I don’t usually sing, but with my voice I seem somewhat trained and I have 2-3 certificates of Music Clubs. So there it is.
To Sum up: A hobby tells you what your personality is behind the scene. And it is very good way to know whether there is a conflict between your other Answers and Who you really Are.
Do Prepare it Well !!
Thanks…
