Admission to AMU in 2022

AMU Admission 2022 is now open. Admission to UG, PG, Diploma, and PG Diploma programmes will be handled by AUEE (AMU entrance exam). The application deadline for the AMU entrance exam 2022 is May 21. Candidates interested in admission can apply online at amucontrollerexams.com, the university’s official website. AMU will use the Common University Entrance Test to admit students to BA (Hons), B.Sc (Hons) Home Science, and B.Voc programmes (CUET). Candidates interested in these programmes can apply for CUET 2022 until May 22. The application form for CUET 2022 is available on the official website cuet.samarth.ac.in.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was founded in 1920 with the goal of providing quality education in various departments. In 13 faculties, it currently offers UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate, and Doctorate level programmes. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) accepts candidates from other countries. Seats are also set aside for students from SAARC and Commonwealth nations. Students may also apply for admission to AMU-affiliated colleges, schools, and centres. The admission form can be obtained by visiting the AMU, Controller Exam official website. This university also provides education via distance learning.

  • AMU admissions are handled in two ways: the Departmental Admission Test (held in Aligarh) and the Entrance Exam (conducted at designated centers).
  • Admission to B.Sc (H)/ BA (H)/ B.Com (H) and BSW is based on candidates’ performance in the AMU Admission Test (All India Level). Controller Examination
  • Admission to the B.Sc (H) (Agricultural Science)/ BA (H) (Shia/ Sunni/ Foreign Languages)/ BRIT/ B.P.Ed and B.Li.Sc programmes is through an admission test administered by the relevant AMU department.
  • The BA-LLB/B.Ed and MBA entrance exams are only held in Aligarh, Kozhikode, and Kolkata.
  • B.Tech/B.Arch admissions are based on AMUEEE, which is held at various locations, whereas BE (Evening) admissions are based on Written Tests.
  • A valid NEET score is required for admission to MBBS/BDS and BUMS.
  • MCA/ M.Sc/ MA/ M.Ed/ MFA/ M.Li.Sc/ M.P.Ed/ MIRM/ MFA and MHRM admission tests are only given by AMU departments.
  • GATE qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the M.Tech programme. AMU holds its own Departmental Admission Test for any remaining seats.
  • Admission to MD/MS and MDS programmes is based on a valid NEET PG or NEET MDS score.
  • To offer admission to the Ph.D. programme, AMU administers a written test followed by an interview.

AMU Undergraduate Admission 2022: B.Sc., BA, B.Com., BFA, B.P.Ed, B.Lib.Sc., and B.Ed

At the undergraduate level, the University offers BA (H), B.Sc (H), B.Com (H), BFA, B.P.Ed, and B.Ed programmes in a variety of specialisations. Except for B.Ed/B.Li.Sc and B.P.Ed, which require a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, the minimum eligibility for these courses is a pass in 10+2 with at least 50% marks. AMU Admission to B.Tech and B.Arch in 2022

At the undergraduate level, AMU offers full-time B.Tech, BE (Evening), and B.Arch programmes in a variety of disciplines. The minimum admissions requirement is 10+2 with PCM. AMUEEE Entrance Exam is held by AMU to offer admission to B.Tech and B.Arch programmes. Candidates for B.Arch must pass an additional aptitude test administered by the university.

AMU Admission to MBBS, BDS, and BUMS (Kamil-e-Tib-o-Jarahat) is based on NEET scores, followed by counselling. Pre-Tib (BUMS) admission is available through AMU’s Department-based Admission Test. The minimum eligibility criteria are 10+2 (PCB) with 50 percent aggregate marks.

Important Points:

  • Two seats in each Agriculture programme are reserved for candidates who meet the Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) quota.
  • The departmental entrance exam will consist of 100 MCQs worth 100 points and will last two hours.
  • Candidates for MA (Arabic/Persian) must have studied Arabic/Persian at the B.A. (Hons.) or equivalent level.
  • AMU will administer a 100-point Combined Entrance Test for M.Sc in Wildlife Sciences/Biodiversity Studies, with MCQs receiving 70% of the weightage and Short Answer Type Questions receiving 30%.

AMU Admission to M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and M.Arch programmes in 2022

AMU offers full-time M.Tech, MBA, and MCA programmes lasting two and three years, respectively. M.Tech requires a BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline, whereas MBA and MCA programmes require only a Bachelor’s degree. Students should be aware that Mathematics is a required subject at the UG level in order to gain admission to MCA.

MBA (IB) admission tests are held in Kolkata, Aligarh, and Kozhikode, whereas MBA (Agribusiness Management) admission tests are held only in Aligarh. The final admission is based on the GD and interview.

M.Tech admission is open to GATE qualified candidates. AMU holds a separate admission test at Aligarh for some of the open seats.

Aligarh Muslim University has a unified application process for all undergraduate and graduate courses. The AMU Notice regarding admissions information is periodically updated on the University’s official website. The application form can be completed online by following the steps outlined below:

  • Visit AMU’s official website.
  • Register as a new user by providing your Name, Address, and Course of Interest.
  • Log in with the username and password you created when you registered.
  • Fill out the form with your personal and academic information. Upload your photo and signature.
  • Fill out the Aligarh Muslim University Admission Form and pay by credit/debit card or net-banking.
  • Cross-check the completed application form and click the submit button.
  • Take a printout of the completed form for future reference.

Admission to AMU Ph.D. in 2022

AMU also offers Ph.D. programmes in a variety of disciplines. Ph.D. admissions are typically held in the month of August each year. Admission is granted based on a written test (80 points) followed by a presentation/interview (30 marks).

The duly completed application form must be submitted to the Office of the Controller of Examination, AMU on or before the application deadline.

Candidates who have passed the NET/ JRF/ GATE/ CSIR/ DBT/ ICAR will be exempt from the Entrance Test, but they must appear in the Presentation and Interview round.
