Admission

Eligibility Criteria

  • For UG and integrated courses, a pass at the 12th level from a recognised board is required, i.e. CBSE/ISC/State Board or the equivalent. Science stream is necessary for the course in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Economics / Mathematics / Statistics is required for the courses in Economics.
  • A minimum of 55% in the qualifying Bachelor’s degree is the standard requirement for all Master’s courses. Relaxation may be given up to 5% for reserved categories.
  • Tamil, English and Hindi must have been a primary subject at the UG level for the corresponding Master’s courses.
  • Economics / Mathematics / Statistics must have been studied at the UG level for the MA in Economics.
  • Chemistry or Physics is required for M.Tech. Courses.
  • Chemistry must have been a significant subject for the M.Sc. Chemistry course.

Selection Process

  • The selection process consists of an entrance exam, which is considered as the basis for the preparation of merit list. The entrance exam consists of multiple questions designed to test the aptitude of the candidates towards the subject.
  • For the integrated courses, syllabus includes subjects covered at the 12th level. Analysis of past academic performance may also be considered as part of the selection process.
  • Subjects covered at the UG level make up the syllabus of the PG course. Sections on general knowledge and aptitude are also included.

Note: Once selected, the candidates will be intimated about the next process. Verification of all relevant documents and payment of the stipulated tuition fee amount is required to complete the processing of admission.
