IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Admission 2022
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers a 2 year full time MBA program as its flagship program and MBA in Business Analytics. Admission to both the courses is based on CAT scores and past academic record followed by online personal Interview. This year WAT round is excluded from ISM Dhanbad MBA Admission. B.Tech Candidates from IIT with 8.0 CGPA are exempted from CAT score requirements and are called for direct online interviews. A total of 62 seats are available in MBA while 30 seats are available in MBA-Business Analytics.
Apart from MBA, ISM Dhanbad also offers M.Tech in Industrial Engineering & Management (IE&M) and PhD. Admission to the course is done based on GATE score followed by a counselling process. IIT Graduates and Sponsored candidates are exempted from GATE score.
Established in 1977, ISM Dhanbad is considered as one of the premier colleges of India. It was ranked 30th and 29th by NIRF in the year 2021 and 2020 respectively. ISM Dhanbad offers MBA and MBA (Business Analytics) for 2 years. In General MBA, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers specializations such as Financial Management, Operations Management, Marketing Management, and Human resource Management.
ISM Dhanbad MBA Eligibility
- For MBA, candidates must have a minimum 60% marks in Bachelor’s degree. It is compulsory to have Mathematics/Statistics in Bachelor’s as one of the subjects.
- For MBA Business Analytics, Candidates must have passed B.Tech with a minimum 60% aggregate score.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers M.Tech courses with specialization in Industrial Engineering and Management. The admission is offered in 3 modes i.e. Gate candidates, IIT B.Tech Graduate candidates, and Sponsored candidates.
ISM Dhanbad M.Tech Eligibility
For GATE Category:
- It is required to have a B.Tech/B.E/Masters (Science/Arts/ Commerce) degree with 6.0 CGPA or 60% marks.
- A Valid GATE score
For IIT Graduates:
- Candidates must have a minimum 8.0 in B.Tech degree.
- IIT Graduates are exempted from GATE score requirements.
For Sponsored Category:

- For next 3 years, it is increased upto INR 35000 per month.
