Under the guidance of Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas (Director of National Institute of Technology), the management institute runs two programs in the Department of  Management Studies. The institute offers MBA in specializations such as Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, Operations, General Management. Besides these subjects, the college has two more industry-focused specializations, which are Business Analysis & IT Consulting and Business Analytics. The same specializations are also offered in the PhD program.

The Department of Management Studies-NIT Trichy (DoMS-NIT Trichy) is one of the oldest B-schools in the country. The NIT Trichy courses include Masters degree or MBA (two-year full-time) and a doctorate degree or PhD with a key focus on Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Operations and General Management. The institute also offers two industry-focused specializations that include Business Analysis & IT Consulting and Business Analytics.

• On PG levels candidates can choose between the specializations i.e. Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Operations and General Management.

DoMS NIT Trichy Admission process

Being one of the oldest B-schools of the country, the Department of Studies at National Institute of Technology, Trichy follows the general rule for selecting the candidates. Candidates who wish to join the NIT Trichy MBA program have to pass CAT examination with a certain score. The institute shortlists its candidates on the basis of their performances in GD and PI, which are conducted by the college itself. For the PhD, candidates should have an MBA with a valid score in GATE/NET/UGC/CAT/AIMA or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Industrial Management and must hold a first class marks in UG or PG.

• For PG programs or MBA, candidates are called for the admission on the basis of their scores in the CAT exam.
• Final selection is made on the basis of their performances in GD and PI rounds.
• To get admission in the full-time and part-time PhD program, one must have passed the UG or PG with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA must be 6.5 out of 10) under General category. For SC or ST, only the pass certificate in UG/PG is sufficient.
