IIM Ranchi Admission 2022

IIM Ranchi offers MBA and IPM as its flagship courses. MBA Admission Process 2022 is over and CAP Final Calls are out now. IIM Ranchi is also accepting applications for the flagship IPM (Integrated Program in Management). Admission to IIM Ranchi IPM program is granted as per SAT/ IPMAT Score. IIM Ranchi has successfully concluded the final placements of the MBA and MBA HR batch of 2020-22, where the highest CTC was recorded at INR 32.21 LPA, and the average CTC stood at INR 16.17 LPA.

IIM Ranchi offers MBA As its flagship program. Admission to the program is based on CAT score, academic profile, diversity factor and performance in interview. In IIM Ranchi Admission Criteria, CAT Cutoff for shortlisting was dropped to 94 percentile from earlier 95 percentile. All the shortlisted students further participated in CAP process containing the PI round. This year, WAT was scrapped out from the selection process due to the ongoing pandemic, and PI was conducted online. Besides MBA, IIM Ranchi offers MBA-HR, MBA-BA, Executive MBA, IPM, PhD, Executive PhD and Post Doctoral Fellowship programs. 

Admission to all the IIM Ranchi programs is done through valid entrance test scores. Selection to IPM is based on IPMAT/ SAT while selection to Executive MBA is done through a written test conducted by the institute. For PhD and Executive PhD, IIM Ranchi accepts CAT/ GATE/ GRE/ GMAT/ NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR). IIM Ranchi also offers Certificate programs ranging from 15 to 18-months duration.

IIM Ranchi MBA Admission 2022

The MBA course at IIM Ranchi is 2-year full residential program and also the flagship of the institute. The current seat intake for the course is 185. The course is divided into three trimesters. 

IIM Ranchi MBA Eligibility 

To be eligible for MBA admission, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

• Passed class 10, 12, and bachelor’s degrees with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for candidates from SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent CGPA in any relevant discipline.
• A 5% relaxation is given to SC / ST / OBC / PwD candidates in overall aggregate.
• Indian Nationals and PIO/OCI Card Holders can also apply for the program.

IIM Ranchi MBA Selection Criteria

Stage1: Shortlisting for PI

The candidates shortlisted are shortlisted based on CAT score. The table below shows the CAT 2020 Cutoff for CAP shortlisting:

Stage 2: PI Process

All the candidates who qualify in Stage I are further eligible to appear for CAP process consisting of PI round.

NOTE: Due to the current pandemic situation and travel restrictions, WAT will not be conducted and the PI process is conducted online.

Stage 3: Final Admissions

After the conduction of PI, a Consolidated Merit List (CML) is prepared on the basis of CAT score, PI Score, and Academic Profile Score which is based on the overall academic performance at different levels.

IIM Ranchi MBA-HR Admission 2022

IIM Ranchi offers an MBA in the field of Human Resources (MBA-HR). The full-time residential program duration is two years. MBA-HR at IIM Ranchi has been acknowledged by Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

IIM Ranchi MBA-HR Eligibility 

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate in any relevant discipline from a recognized University.

IIM Ranchi MBA-HR Selection Criteria

• Admission to IIM Ranchi MBA-HR is based on the performance of valid score obtained in the CAT entrance test
• Shortlisting is based on CAT Performance, Work Experience, and Bachelor’s Degree. 
• Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for a Personal Interview (PI) round
• The final selection will be based on CAT score, PI score, Academic Profile, Work Experience, and Gender Diversity.

IIM Ranchi MBA-BA Admission 2022

IIM Ranchi offers a 2-years full-time residential program called MBA – Business Analytics (MBA-BA) which is spread across 6 terms. Each year comprises 3 terms each The minimum credits required in the course are 109.5 credits and the maximum credits are 118.5 credits (including the Summer Internship Project).

IIM Ranchi MBA-BA Eligibility 

Candidates must have a full-time UG or PG degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in Technology/ Engineering/ Architecture OR Science with Statistics/ Physics/ Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Operations Research/ Engineering Physics/ Information Technology/ Information Science OR Computer Application.

IIM Ranchi MBA-BA Selection Criteria

• Admission to IIM Ranchi MBA-BA is based on the performance of valid score obtained in the CAT entrance test

IIM Ranchi IPM Admission 2022

The Integrated Program in Management (IPM) is a 5-year course at IIM Ranchi in the field of business studies (Integrated BBA-MBA). Students are awarded an MBA degree at the end of the program.

IIM Ranchi IPM Eligibility 

• The candidates must have a minimum of 60% (in class10th, and 12th) for the general category, and 55% for the reserved category – SC/ ST/ PWD from a recognized board.
• The candidates are required to have a valid score in the SAT/ IPMAT 2021 (IIM Indore).
• There is no age limit for IPM at IIM Ranchi.
• PIO/OCI Card Holders can also apply.

IIM Ranchi IPM Selection Criteria

Stage 1: Initial shortlisting 

The candidates will be shortlisted based on the performance of the applicants in either of the two aptitude tests: SAT (conducted by College Board), or IPMAT (conducted by IIM Indore).

Candidates with both test scores, a better score will be considered for shortlisting purposes.

Stage 2: Initial shortlisting for WAT & PI Process

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of tests will have to appear for the WAT & PI process, which will be conducted physically at six locations: Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Ranchi. 

Note: If the pandemic situation and travel restrictions continue, WAT will not be conducted and the PI process will be conducted virtually online. Also, the weightage assigned to WAT will be merged with PI.

Stage 3: Final Admissions

The Consolidated Merit List (CML) would be prepared on the basis of WAT Score, PI Score, and Academic Profile Score based on the overall academic performance at the secondary and the higher secondary levels.

IIM Ranchi IPM Cutoff

IIM Ranchi has not released the minimum cutoff requirement for the IPM program. However, the expected cutoff for IPM Admission via IPMAT is 265/300. IIM Ranchi also offer IPM Admission on the basis of SAT Score. The expected SAT cutoff for IPM program is mentioned below category-wise.

IIM Ranchi Executive MBA Admission 2022

Executive MBA program to working executives and professionals with weekend classes and blended delivery (residential and online modules). A 5 year full-time work/professional/entrepreneurial experience is mandatory for Admission to executive MBA. The application fee for the Executive MBA course is INR 2000 (including GST).

IIM Ranchi Executive MBA Eligibility 

The candidates should fulfill the following criteria’s:

• Candidates must hold a Graduation or equivalent degree like CA/CS/ICWA from a recognized university/institution.
• Candidates should have five years of full time work experience.

IIM Ranchi Executive MBA Selection Criteria

IIM Ranchi will select the candidates for Executive on the basis of Interview only.

IIM Ranchi Certificate Programs Admission

The institute offers a Certificate Program in General Management (CPGM) for a duration of 15 months and a Certificate Program in Business Analytics & Business Intelligence (CPBABI) for a duration of 18 months under Executive Programs. 

Currently, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the classes are being conducted online, but once it’s over, the students are required to attend classes at the IIM Ranchi campus for 9 consecutive days per term.

IIM Ranchi Certificate Programs Eligibility

Eligibility for CPGM 

• The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of 3 years) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university in any discipline 
• Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience.

Eligibility for CPBABI

The candidate must possess the undergraduate/post-graduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in:

– engineering/technology

OR

– science with mathematics/statistics/Operations Research/computer science/information technology as one subject

– any equivalent academic discipline considered to be appropriate as per the assessment of IIM Ranchi

IIM Ranchi PhD and Executive PhD Admission 2022

IIM Ranchi offers PhD for a minimum of four years. The first year of the course work is common with IIM Ranchi’s Post Graduate Program. The following specializations are offered:

IIM Ranchi Ph.D. & Exec-Ph.D Selection Criteria

Ph.D.:

Students will be selected based on:

• Scores in the entrance exams like CAT / GRE / GMAT / GATE / NET or JRF. 
• Entrances must not be taken more than 2 years ago, else they will not be considered.
• Further, they would be shortlisted for seminars and interviews post-academic and professional background checks.
• Also, there is a direct entry for those candidates who are:
  • PGDM holders form IIMs
  • PGD HRM degree with 6.5 CGPA

Exec-Ph.D:

Students will be selected on the basis of:

• Scores in the entrance exams like CAT / GRE / GMAT / GATE / NET or JRF. 
• Entrances must not be taken more than 2 years ago for CAT / GATE / NET and JRF. Whereas beyond 5 years for GMAT and GRE.
• Scores of entrance will not be considered otherwise.
• Further they would be shortlisted for an interview after academic and professional background check.
• The following category of candidates will be exempted from giving entrance test scores:

• Candidates completed PGP from IIMs or accredited institutions with CGPA 6.5 out of 10.

OR

• Government employees with a minimum of 10 years of administrative experience.

OR

• Corporate executives / Consultants / NGO professionals with a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience.

OR

• Management professors with the last qualification from a reputed institution and a minimum of 3 years of postgraduate level teaching experience.
