IIM Shillong Admission Criteria 2022

IIM Shillong MBA Admission Process 2022 is over, the college has released the final MBA calls. Candidates who appeared in IIM Shillong Interview can check their status by visiting IIM Shillong official website. IIM Shillong MBA Application process starts in the month of August along with the CAT Registration. IIM Shillong conducts MBA Admission on a total of 180 seats. IIM Shillong shortlists MBA applicants on the basis of their CAT scores. The CAT sectional percentile was 75 for all three sections.

Apart from MBA, IIM Shillong offers PGPEx in Managing Business in Emerging Technologies (MBEE) and PGP WE for candidates having a work experience of a minimum 3-yeas and 5-years, respectively. Selection for both the courses is based on application and CAT/GMAT score. IIM Shillong also conducts a written eligibility test for students who do not possess a valid CAT/GMAT score in order to get admission in PGP WE. At the Doctoral level, IIM Shillong offers PhD and PhD for Working Professionals (WP). Admission to these courses is based on CAT / GATE / GMAT / GRE / JRF followed by the performance in an interview round.

IIM Shillong MBA Admission 2022

To be eligible for MBA (PGP) admission, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree with 50% in any discipline for general category candidates.
• Those belonging to SC, ST, DA and PwD have to score at least 45% in bachelor’s to be eligible. 
• Indian applicants can apply via CAT score while foreign applicants can apply via GMAT scores.

IIM Shillong MBA Selection Criteria

Admission at IIM Shillong for MBA is conducted in two stages. The applicants have to qualify for the CAT exam and score a minimum percentile as proposed by IIM Shillong for MBA. This is followed by a comprehensive merit list including all parameters influencing admissions.

STAGE I: Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

IIM Shillong has not given CAT overall percentile for 2022 MBA admission. Applicants have to thus qualify minimum percentile section wise in CAT exam. The details are as follows:

Shortlisted candidates for PI would be informed by IIM Shillong through email or text message. Only upon intimation, can applicants submit the completed application for the interview. The application would flash on their dashboard. 

*Note: Those applicants who are not shortlisted would not receive a call for PI. They would not be informed otherwise.

STAGE II: Final Shortlisting for MBA Admission

After qualifying for a personal interview, applicants would be shortlisted for final admission to MBA at IIM Shillong. 

Since IIM Shillong has not defined the weightage for academics for 2022 MBA admissions. An expected set of scores, for students from different categories is as follows:

Applicants who are unable to submit their graduation scores, have time till December 31 to submit the details. 

Cutoff Percentage for PI Round

Cutoffs vary for the interviewees depending upon their categories. The table shows the category wise cutoffs allocated for PI:

Cut-off as Minimum Percentage of Performance

The candidates would be ranked in the decreasing order of their OSc scores. And admission offers would be extended based on ranks in OSc scores. Final admission would include:

• Normalized overall CAT absolute percentile for merit list.
• Maximum weightage of 70% is given to PI alone.
• Other parameters include academic performance, CAT scores and academic profile.
• Thus, the cutoffs would vary per category of students for PI performance.

IIM Shillong MBA Admission 2022: International Students

For international students, the Admissions Committee will scrutinize the applications on the basis of their GMAT scores, scholastic performance, and work experience. 

• If selected, candidates will be called for Writing & Verbal Skills Assessment Test, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (PI). 
• Short‐listed candidates will be asked to take their interviews through video conferencing on the date intimated to them beforehand. 
• Selection criteria will be based on their performance in all the rounds including the GMAT score. 
• The candidates will have to register for the program at IIM Shillong campus. 

How to apply?

For Domestic Applicants

• Register at the official website of CAT and create a login ID and password. 
• Enter your personal, educational, and work experience in required fields, as required.
• Upload the scanned photograph, signature, and category certificates
• Pay the application fee online at the ‘Make Payment’ tab
• The Application Fee for the exam is INR 1900. 
• Save the application form. 
• Once the application filling gets over, submit the application form, and take a hard copy printout for future reference. Also, record your login credentials for future reference.

• Scanned clear signature of the candidate
• Scanned copies of self-attested Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC, PwD certificate)
• Class X and XII marksheets
• Bachelor’s marksheets

For Foreign Applicants

Overseas candidates can download the application form from IIM Shillong’s official website. The application form needs to be filled in and must be e‐mailed to the admissions mail id in as an attachment. 

Documents Required

The completed application must have the following documents as enclosures: 

• Self‐Attested Photocopy of the latest GMAT scorecard.
• Self‐Attested Photocopy of the mark sheet of the Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. 
• A letter from the concerned institute stating “the conversion formula” (converting the grades to percentage) or “having no conversion formula” in case the institute follows a different grading system other than a percentage.
• A Demand Draft of US $ 150 (non‐refundable), drawn in favor of “Indian Institute of Management Shillong” and payable at Shillong as application processing fee.

IIM Shillong Executive MBA Admission 2022

Willing applicants should fulfill the following criteria before applying for admission:

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Also they must qualify for CAT (last 02 years) or GMAT (scores valid till 03 years).
• A 05 years of professional experience is mandatory.

Applicants with strong professional or managerial experience may be given some relaxation. This would depend on IIM Shillong’s rules and regulations. Check 

IIM Shillong MBA Executive Selection Criteria

Selection process begins with application scrutiny. Those selected are called for an assessment before the Executive Assessment Centre (EAC). Round 2 

• Applicants must carry their certificates before going to EAC.
• They would be evaluated based on analytical skills, admission test scores, relevant experience and interview. 
• Though, EAC conducts online assessment for foreign applicants.
• The assessment may be conducted online for domestic applicants upon EAC’s discretion.
• The acceptance of background disciplines would be preferred for Engineering, commerce, liberal arts and humanities. 

How to Apply for MBA Executive at IIM Shillong?

There are two rounds for admission. Round 1 applications begin in September, while Round 2 applications begin November of the same year. IIM Shillong activates PGPEx link for application registration and submission. The applicants can access the link and submit their applications. With the required application fee. The application fee for NRI candidates for the IIM Shillong PGPEx program is as follows:

• USD 100 for Round 1
• USD 150 for Round 2

IIM Shillong PGPWE Admission 2022

PGP WE at IIM Shillong requires applicants to qualify for the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline with 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA. 
• Minimum 03 years work experience after bachelor’s degree completion would be taken into consideration. 
• Candidates with or without CAT / GMAT scores are eligible to apply. 
• Candidates with CAT / GMAT score would be exempted from the written eligibility test.

IIM Shillong PGPWE Selection Criteria

All candidates applying for PGP WE, are required to qualify a written test followed by a personal interview. 

• IIM Shillong offers PGPWE Admission on the basis of PGPWE Test. The test will follow the pattern of CAT.
• A candidate may either apply by providing more than 60 percentile in CAT or more than 500 marks in GMAT score are exempted to appear for the WEMAT (Working Executive Management Aptitude Test).
• Candidates will have to produce original academic & work experience records for verification on the date of the Personal Interview. 
• The selection at IIM Shillong will be based upon the candidates’ overall rank and the number of seats available for the program and other relevant parameters. 
• Selected candidates of the final round shall be intimated at the start of weekend classes over email.

IIM Shillong PhD Admission 2022

The candidates willing to apply for Ph.D should have:

• Candidates with Masters’ degree with 60% and 55% in bachelor’s degree. 

                                                                 OR

• Masters’ degree with a bachelor’s qualification of 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. Or followed by a master’s degree.

                                                                  OR

• Graduation along with Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 55% in B.Com.
• Validity of admission test scores will be considered according to the following criteria:
  • CAT / GATE / JRF (NET): Last 2 years scores
  • GMAT / GRE: Last five years scores 

IIM Shillong PhD Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the admission test scores, Statement of purpose. Admission is subject to the availability of seats in the respective specialisation.

• The shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview and written test (video conferencing if necessary) for final selection.
• Selected candidates of the final round shall be intimated regarding the allotment of the specialisation and start of PhD course, over email.
