Facilities of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
IIST is not only a premier academic institute, but it also provides a wide range of necessary facilities for students, making the institute far superior to others. Some examples are as follows:

Infrastructure |
The academic area, research facilities, library and information buildings, computer centre, administrative area, senate cum convocation area, residential area, students’ activity centre, and a sports facility are all located on the main campus at Valiamala. The greatest experimental setups and equipment are used in each and every academic lab at IIST, which has been properly constructed. Students can participate in a variety of complex and cutting-edge investigations at IIST’s three Centres of Excellence in Advanced Propulsion and Laser Diagnostics, Virtual Reality, and Nanoscience & Technology. |

Library |
The whole library’s operations are digitised, and the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available around-the-clock from anywhere on campus. More than 3000 e-journals, hundreds of conference papers, standards, and other e-resources are available on the campus-wide network. . |

Computing Facilities |
The students now have access to some top-notch computing resources: Data Center: High-Performance cluster server with 3 teraflop speed (32 HP Blade servers with 64 dual quad processors), 20 terabyte SAN storage with NAS header, campus automation servers, and 8 servers with 4 teraflop/dual teraflop processors. 64 desktop computers with heavy-duty printers are part of a programming lab with high performance computing equipment. . |

Sports Facilities |
IIST Cricket League and other intriguing and thrilling leagues are organised by the Sport’s Club. There is also a club for badminton. Students can participate in basketball and football games. |

Health Facilities |
A clinic is available, and IIST has made arrangements with M/s Ananthapuri Health Services to provide all of its students with access to hospitalisation and emergency medical care. |

Other Facilities |
Other amenities include a guest house, studio apartments, a bank and post office, an open-air theatre, and a convocation complex. With more than 200 PhD researchers working in cutting-edge fields, IIST provides a thriving research environment. |
IIST Hostel for Men: $1.23 to $1.05 per night
Hostel fees for Ph.D. students:
- Semester Hostel Fee: Rs. 8750
- Advance payment for the mess bill is Rs. 18,000 (#)
- (#). After the student physically reports to the Institute, the Canteen Office will collect Rs. 3000 per month multiplied by six months as an advance.
The PG Hostel Fee Schedule:
- Semester hostel fee: Rs. 10250
- Prior Mess Bill payment (must be made at the Institute’s canteen after joining): Rs. 18000 (#)
- (#) Once the students physically arrive on campus, the canteen services must receive payment in advance for the meal fees.
IIST Female Hostel Fee: $1.05.-$1.23.
