Admissions to Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in 2022

Admission for undergraduate and graduate programmes at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has begun. The deadline for submitting a JMI admission application has been extended until May 31, 2022. The new date for the Jamia admission exam is June 11, 2022. Jamia has also extended the application deadline for the 2022 classes of B.Tech. and B.Arch. till June 20, 2022. Online JMI admission forms are accessible at jmicoe.in, the institution’s official website. 10 UG programmes will be admitted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The CUET 2022 application form must be submitted by May 31, 2022, which has been added to the deadline. Additionally, students applying for admission through CUET must register on the JMI website.

Admission to UG, PG, and PhD programmes at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is now available for 2022. The application deadline has now been extended till May 31, 2022. On the official website, jmicoe.in, applicants can submit their online applications for admission. Ten undergraduate programmes will now be admitted starting this year using the NTA-conducted Common University Entrance Test (CUET). On the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in, candidates who are interested in applying for admission to these programmes must complete the CUET 2022 application form. Such applicants must additionally register on the JMI admissions website. The CUET 2022 application form must be submitted by May 31, 2022, which has been extended. Exam for CUET 2022 is anticipated to take place in the first week of July 2022.

The following programmes are available through CUET: BSc in Biotechnology, BVoc (Solar Energy), BSc (Hons) Physics, BA (Hons) Turkish Language & Literature, BA (Hons) Sanskrit, BA (Hons) French and Francophone Studies, BA (Hons) Spanish and Latin American Studies, and BA (Hons) Economics.

For B.Tech and B.Arch admission in 2022, Jamia Millia Islamia has also extended the application date. Candidates can now apply on the university’s official website until June 20, 2022. At Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), admission to undergraduate and graduate programmes is granted based on performance on the university’s entrance exam. On June 11, 2022, the JMI admission exam will start. On the official website, the same admit cards will shortly be made available.

The fundamental prerequisite for admission to B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes is a valid JEE Main rank. JMI also offers a BDS programme, for which applicants must achieve a NEET UG qualifying score.

  • To be admitted to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes, candidates must pass both the written test and the interview.
  • Candidates who have passed the M.Phil or CSIR/UGC/NET/GATE/SLET or Ph.D. Entrance Test are not required to take it. Such candidates are just required to participate in the interview phase.
  • The university also provides courses in a variety of programmes that are Self-Financed, Evening, Part-Time with Distance Education (Centre of Distance & Open Learning (CODL)).

Admission for Undergraduates at Jamia Millia Islamia 2022

JMI provides a variety of specialties in BA, B.Sc, B.BA, B.Com, BTTM, BFA, BA-LL.B, B.Ed, and B.Li.I.Sc courses. The minimal requirement for eligibility is 10+2 from an accredited board. The JMI entrance test will be used for the remaining UG programmes, while the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be used for certain of them. Criteria for Non-CUET Based Program Eligibility:

The following prerequisites must be met in order to be admitted to Jamia Millia Islamia’s UG programmes:

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with at least a 50 percent overall grade from a recognised board of education in order to be admitted to BA, BBA, B.Voc, B.Com, or BFA.
  • Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution in order to be admitted to the B.Lib.Sc. and B.Ed. programmes.
  • Candidates must obtain a Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent test from a recognised board with at least a 45 percent aggregate in their top five papers in order to be admitted to the BHM programme.

UG admissions requirements at Jamia Millia Islamia

The results of the Common University Entrance Test will be used to select students for the BA (Hons) Hindi, BA (Hons) Sanskrit, BA (Hons) French and Francophone Studies, BA (Hons) Spanish and Latin American Studies, BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) History, BSc in Biotechnology, BVoc (Solar Energy), BSc (Hons) Physics, and BA (Hons) Turkish Language & (CUET). While registering for the CUET, candidates must select the subjects that are listed in the qualifying requirements.

The JMI admission exam will be used to determine who gets into the remaining courses.

Jamia Millia Islamia Undergraduate Admissions Procedure

The actions listed below must be followed by applicants for CUET-based courses in order to apply for the CUET:

Admission 2022 to Jamia Millia Islamia for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc, BPT, and BDS

JMI provides full-time B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes lasting four and five years in a variety of subject areas. Candidates must have received at least a 55 percent overall grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 diploma.

JMI also provides B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons) degrees in a range of subject areas. To be considered for admission, candidates must meet the requirements for eligibility. JMI Entrance Test will be used as the foundation for admission.

Selection Process

B.Tech. and B.Arch.

B.Tech. and B.Arch. selection procedures Candidates are chosen for B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes based on their JEE Main rank and/or marks. Candidates who wish to enrol in B.Tech. programmes must take the JEE (Main) Paper 1 exam. An applicant must take the JEE (Main) Paper 2 test in order to be admitted to B.Arch. programmes.

  • The test consists of Paper – 1 (for B.Tech.) and Paper – 2 (for B.Arch.)
  • Both papers are for 3 hours.
  • They will consist of 30 MCQ’s each.
  • 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • A deduction of 1 mark will be done for each incorrect answer.
  • The allotment of seats will be according to JMI’s Admission Procedure. The reservation of seats and merit will be solely based on rank obtained in JEE (Main). 
  • The selected candidates will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities. These candidates are required to bring self-attested copies of JMI’s Acknowledgement Slip, Registration Slip, JEE (Main) Admit Card, and JEE (Main) Score Card along with the following documents:
    • 10+2 or equivalent exam’s Marksheet
    • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School’s Marksheet)
    • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if applicable)
    • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
    • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group
    • In case of gap period, a certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behavior
    • Proof of address along with name and location of the nearest police station
    • Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.

B.P.T., B.Sc., BA LLB, and B.D.S.

The candidate’s ranking or score in an entrance exam administered by JMI (for B.P.T. and B.Sc.) and NEET will determine their selection (for B.D.S.)

The JMI website will present the lists of candidates who have been provisionally chosen and those who are on the waiting list for admission.

On the official JMI website, the list of applicants chosen for the interview will be shown in descending order of their entrance test roll numbers.

On the official website, they will receive a date to present for the admission formalities.

The JMI Admission Procedure shall be followed for seat distribution.

JMI provides full-time M.Tech., MBA, MCA, and M.Arch. programmes.

The BE/B.Tech degree in the pertinent discipline is the minimal requirement for M.Tech candidacy. For M.Arch courses, a B.Arch is the minimum requirement, while an MBA or MCA requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes is determined by a candidate’s performance in a written test administered by JMI, which is followed by an interview and a review of their research proposal. The minimal requirement for admission is a master’s degree with a relevant subject GPA of 55%.

  • copy of the X and XII class grades or any similar test, duly attested
  • evidence of age
  • copy of the mark sheet for a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree, self-attested
  • a copy of the parent’s passport if they work overseas
  • a self-attested copy of the parent’s work permit, permission to work, or valid working visa, translated by a recognised, approved agency.
  • certified translation from a recognised organisation and a parent’s resident permit that has been self-attested
  • a self-attested copy of the parent’s employer’s letter from abroad
  • a parent’s affidavit for financial support on stamp paper costing INR 10.00.
  • Self-attested a duplicate of the NRI Status Certificate from the Indian Embassy in the relevant nation (original required)

NOTE:

  • Candidates who fall under OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) must produce a pertinent certificate issued by the appropriate body.
  • The Muslim Minority category will take over any open seats from the categories of Women Applicants and OBC-NCL applicants.
  • Individuals who have passed their JMI qualifying examination are considered internal Jamia Candidates. People who obtained their degrees privately or remotely will not be eligible for relaxation.
  • There are no places available in the BDS programme for candidates from J&K or Kashmiri migrants.
  • There are no places available for foreign applicants in the B.Arch programme.
  • NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers will be entitled for a reduction of 5% and 2% of the total marks in the qualifying examination, respectively.
