NIT Scholarship for Kurukshetra
According to the policies of the university and the government of India, NIT Kurukshetra offers a variety of scholarships to students in their first or subsequent year (second, third, or final year) of undergraduate or postgraduate study based on their performance in their most recent qualifying examination. The following list includes some of the well-known and popular scholarship programmes of NIT Kurukshetra:
Merit Scholarship:
- Each academic year (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year), the institute awards 26 Merit Scholarships in each discipline of the relevant programmes.
- A student must have earned at least 60% of the possible points in their most recent qualifying semester or final semester.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is available to NIT Kurukshetra undergraduate students in any year.
- Student applicants for the Merit Cum Means Scholarship must have a family income of no more than INR 2,50,000 per year (excluding HRA).
- Additionally, a candidate must have passed the qualifying exam with at least a 60% grade on one attempt.
National Scholarship:
- The National Scholarship is available to students with a minimum grade point average of 60 percent in their most recent qualifying test and a family income of less than INR 2,50,000. (excluding HRA).
- Boarders at the institute receive INR 300 per month as a scholarship reward, while day scholars receive INR 120.
National Scholarship for children of School Teachers:
- Children of working teachers in any accredited primary or secondary schools are especially eligible for the national scholarship for school instructors.
- The candidates must have earned a first division or 60 percent on their most recent qualifying exam.
- Additionally, the family’s annual income shouldn’t be more than INR 2,50,000.
Scheduled Caste/Tribe Post-Matric Scholarship:
- The Post-Matric SC/ST Scholarship is available to SC/ST students whose yearly family income is less than INR 2,50,000.
- The monthly allowance for boarders is INR 425, while the monthly allowance for day scholars is INR 190.
Grants from Alumni Associations:
- The NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech students majoring in civil, mechanical, electronic, and computer science engineering are eligible for the Alumni Association Scholarship.
- The NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech program offers 5 scholarships worth INR 2400 annually to students who are less fortunate financially.
- In order to be eligible for the Alumni Association Scholarship, the applicant’s parents or guardians must submit the necessary paperwork as well as an affidavit detailing their total annual income.
