Need some help here !!
If you want to study abroad, then you will need to get a full ride or atleast a 50% scholarship to be under the 15 lakh budget.
Schools include :
Cornell and Notre Dame offer a 1yr program so do West Viriginia University and University of Cincinnati and Emory .. and um... Babson.
But being under 15 lakhs is always contingent on you getting a full ride 😃
Why ru restricting urself to 15 lakhs... there r many banks in US (citibank is one) which offer loan at very cheap rates without any liability on ur parents if u can show them that u have an admission in a gud mgmt college (basically if u assure them that u will have a job after college)... their modus operandi is they will ask u to take a life/medical insurance with the banks as the beneficiary... in case u die, the insurance co will pay else u can pay the loan in a span of 3 to 15 yrs... (this is an option told to me by a guy from wharton way back in 2001)
I think if u can work on this option u will have more colleges to apply...
regd NUS (also AIM), its a very gud college but chk the placements b4 applying.. i heard companies don't come to individual college... rather they have a meet/job expo in which both colleges n companies take part... so even gud college students are not placed many-a-times... this is wht i have heard so chk out with someone who applied to/are studying in these colleges....

Questions:
Is there any website that lists 1 year MBAs
How late am I to apply to these colleges?
Is 710 and 7 years of work exp with Reliance and Oracle in managerial cadre good enough to get me in to top 25 b schools?
Abhi,
You can also apply to IIMA's PGPX course for the batch of 2007-08. The first batch has been give admit offers for the 2006-07 term. Its a new one year course by IIMA, just in cse you have not heard of it. Your kind of profile looks good for the course. Most people admitted to first batch have similar profile. There are some stats about the profile of first batch on another thread , "IIMA PGPX results out". check that.
You can apply to INSEAD August intake. Most reputed european schools are 1 year course except LBS which is 15-21 month long. check out Business week site or FT.com and you will know where to apply. 😃
Cheers

Good thread ...
I am looking for similar info...
Pittsburg (Katz) is one that offers a 1 year MBA.
Babson also offers a 1 year MBA but stipulates that you need an undergraduate degree in business ...
The question is what are the placement statistics like for the 1 year vs the 2 year MBA....?
The accelerated one year MBA program offered by Hult International Business School in Cambridge, Massacussetts is very good.
I have a few friends who are Hult alums and they are doing exceedingly well.

dude,
can you please find out from your friends what kind of budget(including living) is needed for the 1 yr MBA at HULT ?
hiii guys r u aware of bim bangalore chapter??its a 1 yr course and first batch is underway.so no placements data.
i need all of urs advice.i have got confirmed seat in icfai gurgaon and have paid 30k for it too so its confirmed.
bt im considering biom bangalore as its a 1 yr course so shorter turnaround time.
the concern is no placements to falls back upon and unlike gr8 lakes or isb thr's no buzzzz abt this institute despite being from bim.no international faculty etc-looks a pretty half hearted attempt from bim.
my profile:
bcom hons grad 2004,calcutta univ
10-78
12-66
grad-50
work ex-2 yrs in IT marketing(hardware)
1.5 yrs in BPO(banking)
am intrested in marketing specialisation- mainly in finan services/banking secotr-Marketing and also maybe bpo's in managerial profiles.
bim is reputed for finance right?
seniors from bim since u must be having idea abt the bangalore chapter and u have my profile and aspiration,i hope u can advice me wethr to stick to icfai which has good placements in banking/bpo sector or go for bim bangalore.
looking forward for guidance

Hey...
Am a software professional with 3 yrs of work ex and am currently looking at some 1 year MBA options(preferably)... (Budget not exceeding 15 lakh). Let me know of a few options... Have been able to figure out ISB only. Looking at NUS too...
Need some help here !!
Dude! If you wanna know about 1 year Programs .... It could be in UK ... Most of the UK varsities offer 1 year courses .... PG has already pointed out the US universities for it .....
In India you have ISB, SPJain, GLIM, IIMA, IIMC etc ....
However I must tell you that 15 lacs budget would be another Kohinoor to find :satisfie: ...... Even apna ISB exceeds it
You need Aid to sail through without much expenses .... If you dont get aid ... not to worry ... you have Banks to do the job
Another aspect you might want to look at is ... Your Experience ... I wont say ppl dont get through in 1 year courses with that experience ... still its towards the lower side ... .... Also I feel it makes more sense to get into 1 yr courses with 5 - 6 yrs of experience atleast ...
hey,
great lakes appears to be a good option as it within ur budget (around 5 lacs), placements is fair & faculty is awsum. chk it out.

Hi dude !!!
In addition to the choices above said, XLRI has opened a 1 yr MBA-GMP for the batch 2006-07. Currently it is for 3+ yrs managerial exp but prob from next yr it will border around 5-7 managerial exp. The entrance is thru XAT/GMAT(for NRIs) and personal interview. In the first batch the candidates have a profile ranging from Software(TCS,Infy,SAP,Honeywell etc) to Banking(SBI,IDBI,NABARD),Steel(Tata, Ispat etc),Power,SaintGobain(Glass), HLL and the least exp guy in XLRI in the batch has 3 yrs exp and the highest 20 yrs, average being around 5-6 yrs of workex. Infact the course was on for quite sometime but it was a captive XLRI-TataSteel course. Now it has been open for placement . Due to its inception sometime back, the course as such is very structured and costs around 3.5 lakhs. Guess u can check out the rest of the details with XLRI.
