senoirs plz help ASAP: 1.is kjs goin to increase its fee this year like most b schools?if yes can u give the rough estimate of the total cost(tution+hostel for two years)? 2.how many of ur final students out of 120 have been placed ?wat was the avg CTC?plz be as exact as u can be. 3.have all the 1st years gt their summer placements? 4.does being a huge insti(in terms of no. of departments u run) be a backdraw wen it comes to placement? 5.wich specialization is best in kjs,if any? plz reply ASAp.thank you so much.

Fee hike at KJ will always look very small compared to other colleges. I have already described in my previous posts that the total expenditure at KJ will be 5 lacs for 2 years (includes hostel, mess food, laptop, formal suits, farewell and fresher party expenditures). addition to this amt is lifestyle based.
I dunno abt the number outta 120.. add 60 IB and 120 MMS students to make it 300.. 50% and more of the senior batch has been placed this year so far. avg package wud be arnd 6 mark as per my knowledge. the companies coming now are offering less packages. so the avg might decrease. The %age changes everyday and my updates re relatively old..

Yes PGDM and PGDM IB are fully residential. We have an awesome 12 floor hostel with attached toilets in each room
Everyone gets the hostel.
I asked abt the date of results.. They will come after the IIM results. So puys. wait for the IIMs to declare their results.

My GD/PI was on 25 -03 at Mumbai. GD was a case on a stadium in Pune which was built for Junior Commonwealth Games and thereafter became a white tiger for the management.We had to discuss as a Sports Administrator(Dont remembr the exact words),what r the steps to be taken.
PI:Panel consisted of two ladies,one was supposedly an HR professor thr as per a senior...went sumthin like this..
1.So u r comin from Delhi..y didnt u attend it thr itself (Told that i wudnt like to hide anything and had other calls in Mumbai which i wanted to club it with..) 2.U quit ur job in Sep 08...what hv u been doin since then? (Told that i was preparin for CAT n other exams ..one lady asked if i had been prepped by any insti;)...i tld that i did take thr help with practice matrl to clear the writtens and thats it...) 3.U want to major in Marketing..Why? (Tried explaining my strengths in interpersonal and communication skills...she said she wasnt convinced...again said that im goal oriented and my work ex(marketing) has proven(targets & blah blah)..self motivated..etc..she said these are generic qualities for success and asked me specifically for marketing..i said that communication skills,ability to convey ideas in words...blah blah..) 4.Ok(the other lady,pointing towards a bell kept on the table)...explain to me what this means..i will give you 10 secs... (The genius that i am ,thought for a while and came up with" a device to alert people" !!!!....this mite be my nemesis!!) The ladies looked blank for a while ,shrugged and asked.."Is that it?"..n i said.."in 10 secs ma'am..."....No further questions thr... 5.U say u like to read..(i filled that in the form)...what d u read? (I said i like to read biographies of business leaders...she asked me on three books i hav read and learnings from them..this went ok i guess..) 6.So u r sure u want to specialise in Marketing? When i came out ,the fellas outside told me that it went on for no longer than 5 mins!!!!!.... I felt it went ok as long as i was in thr...but ever since i came out and started analysing this,i can only keep finding faults....hope the ladies dont feel the same... Seniors,feel free to judge my intrvw and lemme know ur feedbacks..i am not gonna get any from the college so at least i can know if i hav done sumthin wrong
seniors, it would be really nice of you to tell us about the placement scenario at the college..has the 2007-2009 batch already passed out?n r the placements still going on?heard really bad figures of placement at iims...so a bit confused

Actually a very old portion of the site says expected date for final shortlist is the 18th of april. Sure man, contact our BIG BROTHERs the MODS..

well somaiya's brochure says that work ex carries 10 marks(inc in 5o marks alotted to PI) out of a total 200 marks, but dont know what weightage they actually give to it
