I received the letter fom BIM..
The wait listed students are require to do 2 things.
1) To express their willingness to join in case their wait list is cleared. They can do it thru email or fax or telegram. (Last date- 19th May)
2) To send a DD for Rs 5000/- to show that they R interested in joining. (Last Date-21st May)
But something which I find it hard to comprehend is the fact that THE WAIT LIST WILL BE OPERATED ONLY FROM 15th June..
The last Date for the selected candidates to pay the fees(Rs 50,000/-) is 21st May. So, the institute would have a clear picture by 25th May.. Y don't they start operating the wait list soon so that those who don't get a seat can look out for other options.
Is it written in letter that First Wait List movement will be announced by 15th June !!! Its going to create a lot of uncertainty for Working people becoz they have to resign in mere of 15 days to join college (considering avg notice period for leaving company is 2-3 months). Is there any other way by which we can get seat confirmation earlier may be at the end of May ? Seniors Plz reply ...

BHEL has recruited for an Operations profile from IIT-KGP. BIM does not offer Operations as a Major specialisation and this has already been put forth earlier in this thread.

hey.. got da offer letter today.. I'm wailisted 28 (oc) and it says waitlst mvmt vl start only by june 15th..:shocked: but y so much time..??? I already paid fees in Amrita coimbatore and classes starts der in 3rd week.. I thought of withdrawin da fees paid there wen I get da confirmation frm BIM (hopefully may end:D) so dat i vl lose only Rs1000.. But now da sitution is like I cud know abt da waitlist mvmt only after class commence in Amrita.. In dat case i'll lose da full amt paid..:shocked:.. Is der any way to know da waitlist status before june...?? Seniors pls help..!!

Nothing to worry..June 15 WL movement will be the final waitlist movement based on which they will select the confirmed 120..B4 that atleast 2 WL movement will take place(as in the case of ours). First WL movement will be announced in the last week of May(around 24th). You can call up the office and get known abt ur position. For your OC WL#, after the 1st WL movement, you will be in a better position to know abt conversion.

I called the admission office and they told me that 75 waitings were cleared last time in oc category ...im waitlisted at 91 in oc.... so hoping for the best............

First you have to send them an email/fax/telegram saying that you are willing to wait for the WL movement. This should be done by 19th May.
Next, you have to send the DD for Rs. 5000 along with a letter by speed post/courier. The letter should contain similar content as in the email you send above. This DD with the letter should reach BIM before 21st May.
