do u puys have any idea about coll which r yet to release their final shortlist ?may be it could dent bim's list...:D:wow:
I think almost all B-Schools have come up with their Final Lists. Only a handful of Schools like IIM-I and Welingkar are yet to release their final lists. Puys correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup... U r right.. I forgot the newer IIMs (Shillong, Ranchi n Rohtak). It will be great for the wait listed if a sizeable number of guys who r selected by BIM get selected there too.
A few facts about TRICHY (For the benefit of the non-Tamil Nadu students).
# Life at Trichy is not as hectic as compared to the Tier-I cities. One could feel an air of comfort around him.
# Trichy is not so awkward a place as it seems to be. It is apparently the best connected city in Tamil Nadu. Connected with Chennai thru Rail and Road. Almost all trains-more than 12 trains daily from Chennai- and buses to south TN pass via Trichy.
# A profoundly serious student will surely shy away from entertainment. But those who believe- and rightly so :splat:- that fun is part and parcel of life will find that the city does not offer too many places to hang out during weekends. So the students stand to gain a lot of time, which might otherwise be lost in fun making and frolicking.
# There is not even one holiday destination in the vicinity of Trichy. The best place one could think closer to Trichy is Kodaikanal, which is a good 170 kms and 5 hours away from the city.
# Though it doesn't have a genuine 5-Star Hotel, there are quite a few good hotels and restaurants in Trichy.:D
# Food is very inexpensive in Trichy, but second only to Madurai.
# There is no dearth of textile shops. There are a few shops where one can buy a wide range of fashionable fabrics.
# It is among the fastest developing cities in T.N.
# Has a very good and functioning airport.
# Is gonna be among a select list of cities to have both an IIM and NIT. (Kozhikode is the only other city that comes to my memory).
# Trichy has a lot of SMEs. One could notice a lot of Engg companies along the Trichy-Thanjavur highway.
# Trichy is seriously warm and sultry. During Summer, the mercury touches 42 degrees Celsius. The avg temp hovers around 36 degrees during summer.
# Trichy, though not arid, is largely dry. The lack of moisture in the atmosphere, coupled with heat, sucks up all your energy.
# There are not too many eateries serving North-Indian stuff, something that would not enthuse the guys from North.
To The WL guys who have received the Letter from BIM, can anyone please tell me about the last date of submission of The Rs. 5000 DD. I am worried. I haven't received the letter Yet..!!

bro i think there is nothing wrong in waiting for a good thing.. lets just wait hopefully till july5th.. after thats lets decide wat to do.. u can book for a R15 and i can go in search of a job..
thanx for the prompt reply ,.,,.so in whose favour should i make the dd?
payable at?
i am asking these things because i filled up an online form for bim ,,,so know a lil bit less of these things?
i wish to send them an email right now , but i m feared that there may any specific format to follow.
DD should be in favour of "Bharathidasan Institute of Management". Payable at Trichy.
Regarding email, there's no specific format. Use "Application Decision - " in the subject line (my suggestion). In the body just state that you are accepting your offer/waitlist. Make sure your name,BIM application number and CAT TR number are properly visible.
1) I m not worried about the pay package . Its the job profile i would want to know about. How big a difference is there when it comes to companies giving a job profile for students from tier - I and tier -II colleges?
2) IIM s have a brand name of their own. So will growth be restricted to the brand name alone or will individual performance matter?
3) How important is the institute and its alumni in the long run?
4) can a person with no brand name rise to good positions in the organisation?
I really hope people from the corporate sector who have first hand experience of this to help me give a bigger picture on this.....

job profile largely depends on from where u have finished.... mostly u ll not be given as good roles as IIM ppl.....

-- once u r in ,only ur performance matters... nothing else.....
3) How important is the institute and its alumni in the long run? --- just to get a job, insit is needed i guess..... alumni may bring good companies...
4) can a person with no brand name rise to good positions in the organisation?
--Definitely
