[2010-12] Discussion thread for TISS HRMandLR GDPI call getters

yogi1988 Says
how did u know ur result

Excerpt from my post: It is not that I have some links in TISS or that my GD/PI was pathetic. It is just that I love TISS and in these 22 years I have lived for I have never got the thing I loved, wether it be a Bike or a Girl or for that matter an Institute....

I am sure it is comprehensible...

I just called tiss and they said results will be out tomm evng at 5 pm..atb..

any idea if its some pdf that comes with selcted candidates or roll no filling thing..

last yr it was that you log in and it wil tell u ur stauts whether u are selected or waitlisted or rejected. just like the gd/pi login whether u were shortlisted or not.

Hey bro !!! dont loose hope man...it might sound a lilltle funny but....Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.

ATB....

@Simranpaljaggi

Hats of to u buddy.I don't know whether u r in or not,but I can feel,
what it takes to accept such thing in front of all.
Whatever be buddy, the best thing u get from TISS is that now u believe in urself
u have gained enough confidence to admit ur mistakes
and dats really vt counts

Don't loose this attitude dear...
and Rock the show in SIBM-P(I hope dats the place u r going)

there's a small clarification id like to make:
they're inclined on giving not more than 52-55 calls this time (at max). They would like a smaller batch henceforth, since in the past, the profs have been finding it increasingly difficult to get students placed for internships and field work.
I've been reading this thread since the morning. Does nothing to mitigate my anxiety :D
You guys are great. Hope you get what is best for you. And i wish the same for me (i know its TISS :D)
So much so that I exclaimed "I won't be bluffing if i say tiss is my first love" , which is not like something i do at interviews..
I also remember having 2 cups of tea, during the interview, and lots of parle g biscuits which the panelists very graciously offered to me.. i was too hungry and brain dead to decline, and i guess they had sensed it :D
it was the second last interview on the last day of interviews.. im sure they can relate, haha

congratulations on your interview.. its good enough to be put on a website for how to give good grad school interview. i guess when the concluding remarks are ones that u got as such, its v likely that u have a very very high probability of making it. but then, the ratios of calls to converts is quite screwed up..and so, although im inclined to say uve made it, i wont. i wish you the best.
Hi Puys...:)

I am writing on this thread, just hours before our fortunes start getting uploaded onto the website, to make a confession. I must admit that I know my result........yes puys I know my result. It is not that I have some links in TISS or that my GD/PI was pathetic. It is just that I love TISS and in these 22 years I have lived for I have never got the thing I loved, wether it be a Bike or a Girl or for that matter an Institute......

I know many of us would be rejected and many selected,, but promise me puys whatever it be a selection or a rejection you will continue to enjoy life, you will continue to beleive in yourself and you will continue to think positively.

After all Love does not ensure success. It's good to see that you people too are crazy about TISS. It gives me a kind of satisfaction. Tomorrow I would just think that there were 59 above me who were more fanatical about the institute.

Into hibernation till the results come out......

Don't post like you are 70 years old my dear, you are just
22 and very rare of the Indians who get quality education upto graduation, such education that makes them able to appear for competitive exams and crack them,

APJ Abdul Kalam's Father was a fisherman, he is a bachelor, yet he is probably one of the finest individual, leader and educationalist this country has ever produced,
Don't decide your life on the parameters of bike, or girl or else other things,
To me you are that rare individual who is not contributing to Global Warming by emitting Greenhouse gases through a bike.

Bro do you know Mr. Ratan Tata is a bachelor too???

And as for selection in TISS many people are going to get rejected, but that doesn't mean end of life,

"Sometimes truth isn't just good enough sometimes people deserve more, sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.

Live life on your own conditions, if you feel you are unhappy noone possibly could make you happy, if you feel you are happy noone can make you unhappy.

"Don't ever let anybody tell you you can't do something, If you want something go get it....period, there are peoples who cant do something themselves wanna tell you you can't do something in life, do not believe them...."

What is the source of the information. Please do not share any speculative messages here. I am sure TISS won't be providing such information prior to result day.
And as for placing students it is TATA brother, do you know what that brand signifies??? A global Conglomerate....

could you please mention the source of your information...

the source of information are students from tiss that ive known for 3-5 years that are involved with the admission process in terms of facilitating a smooth execution of the same. there's been talk lately that its been really really hard to get all students placed at various companies for the mandatory 2days a week field work..truth is, majority of other courses have around 30 seats or so and well, the HRM guys sort of had a hard time in 2008 when thousands of ppl got gd/pi calls and the batch strength was in the late fifties..
it is indeed speculative as the faculty themselves are pondering over it. i merely wish to bring that fact to light. ofcourse, like others i hope they take as many as possible and trust us to sort ourselves out :D
@white_snow : i have as much love and respect for tiss as u do, and i truly appreciate what yre saying..i deeply recognise the value of the tiss brand and the like.. certain problems with hr pros (ones with tiss for example) in the recent past have been structural, which im not inclined to elaborate upon right now.. which doesnt mean that theres a dearth of opportunities, just that probably due to historical experiences the HRM LR guys maybe wary of the batch size and play cautious.
@samplingo: cud u tell me yr name please? i clearly can remember i met a guy from nift.. are u varun? kanpur? or some1 else?

a small request. Please dont speculate. There are hundreds of people who are already emotional and under a lot of stress. And unless u happen to be a close relative of the guys at TISS who call the shots there's no way you or for that matter anyone can get such info. And fr ur very kind info students of hr at TISS get 2-3 offers on average.
Good for you mate that u had tea (2 of them) and a hell lot of buiscuits. Maybe that according to u gives u a far more superior chance of getting thru. But plz dont speculate unnecessarily.

ramiz bhai, stressed out to ham bhi hain abhi..
i dont know where u draw upon that i hinted at having a superior chance..i jst wanted to say i was too stressed out by then..just like you, i wish for a healthy batch size myself but there were clear concerns over it which i just wanted to share.
i apologise for having caused any upheavals for any1.
and yea, as a matter of fact, one of the students who said this was a neice of the previous head of department of HR at tiss, whose on a year long sabbatical. although, i did not want to disclose this piece of information, i barely came to know of/know her few weeks back since she's from my city...she just corroborated those concerns.. although i hope it doesnt turn out to be true.

just another point, i was not talking about eventual placements or something..yea, majority students end up with 2 offers often. what i was talking abt is the mandatory field work (read my post) on mondays and tuesdays of every week. this is a distinguishing feature of the course and promises exposure to diverse sectors.. placement is a different matter altogether.

Guys here your wait gets over.....

Arey plz dont apologise. U see there are just so many different theories that u get absolutely confused which ones to believe and which not to. I'll tell u something that i've held back for months. Even though the source of my info is as reliable as urs. Yet i didnt disclose it as i thought its better not to speculate. Even i happen to personally know a senior who said that - 59 is the max size. ...
all the very best.. which day was yr gd and interview?

slightly more bearable.

Hello Friends,
I am really amazed the way u all are concerned for the number of seats. I feel even if the number goes to 1000 then also u need only 1 seat . Correct. So dude play cool. dont add to everyday mess.
Another thing , what the seniors said may be true but again the situation through which they went through was totally different. If I am not wrong "IT WAS RECESSION" which had altered all the prevailing theories.

SO moral of the story is chat talk, be friends, dont create panic and confusion. and above all keep logging TISS site after 11 tomorrow.

Hope I am not very rude

Who else

cmon guys.............try to keep it simple eithr you get or you dont.........its not the end of life.............atb enjoy
