My GD/PI round was held on Feb 27th 2009 at 5.30 pm. 15 of us entered the GD room and were asked to introduce ourselves. The president then suggested us to discuss for two minutes and come out with our own topic. After 3 minutes we came to a topic,"Did Slumdog Millionaire deserve Oscars?"(This was a redundant topic all throughout the day). But the president disliked the topic and finally he suggested one,"Is socialism an answer to solve economic crisis". This happened for about 10 minutes, after which each one of us were supposed to conclude.We then had our Interview with the same set of panelists. Some of the common questions asked were,What is the price of oil barell, what is the GDP growth rate, define inflation, a few questions on ethics(valued a lot here), CEO's of various companies, turnover of top IT companies,how do you think recession could be tackled,etc

I am sure you will find a few more on last year's queries thread.
Some random tips:
Brush up your GK, especially current affairs. Our President, Prof. Philip is a walking encyclopedia , so be prepared! If you quote any figures in front of him, be 100% sure about its accuracy.
Communication skills are very important, please avoid grammatical mistakes when speaking.
Expect some questions on whatever you have written in the application form, especially 'Why XIME?' or 'Why MBA?' question.

I found a couple of GD topics on the net that were asked previously
-Ethics in business and economic slowdown-how it affects and what has to be done!
-Is socialism an answer to solve economic crisis?
-Can Ethics and Business go hand in hand?
-Will India ever overtake China?
-Educational institutions should be completely privatized.
-Are self financing institutes bringing down the quality of professional education.
-Iran-Afghanistan Pipeline is against India's strategic interest.
-Should FDI of 51% be allowed in retail in India?
These topics were hot when they were given to the students so use this just to get the idea on the topics that they might choose but stay updated on current affairs to face the GDPI.
hi all,
the last item in the checklist says,
'Work experience, letter of appointment o service certificate'
is it enough if we produce the last month's pay slip for this one??
i don't get this..pls clarify!
