[2011] SIBM Pune Final Results

I think wait list no is based on the category in which you have applied. So, as the no of people in your category cancel the admission, then you ll move forward. And there is no need to worry, in and all there are only 86 waitlist nos, and I think all will be cleared.

Regards,

Do they fill leftover seats from a certain quota by students from other categories? Like if the SC/ST quota seats remain vaccant then will they be filled by seats from general category?

Nope ... they usually don't do that in any institute.. they either go vacant or are filled internally...
correct me if i am wrong

correct me if i am wrong

they have called in the ratio of 1:7 and this ratio will be same for SC ST guys
so there will be enough of SC ST guys to fill the vacant seats.
Also, please find below my mail communication with SIBM. Hope it will help most of you who, like me, are worried about reimbursement etc

Me:
Dear Sir,
This is regarding the " refund rules" stated below:
"To cancel your admission you need to firstly inform the Institute immediately about your cancellation through a written communication / mail or else your withdrawal will not be treated valid from that date. Once you have communicated, you need to send us the original challan copy of the fees paid, along with an application signed by the student. After receiving the same a cheque or demand draft would be sent to you."
Since I am planning to transfer the money online ( through netbanking) using RTGS, How do I produce the 'original challan copy' in case of reimbursement. ?
Will the printout of the snapshot of the fund transfer suffice? If not, please suggest some alternative.
Please reply to my query at the earliest so that I can start the process of fund transfer asap.
Thanks in advance.
SIBM:

Me:
Dear Sir,
Thank you for a prompt reply.
The attached document says :
"The fee receipt will be given to you on the day of joining the institute (i.e. on 6th June 2011) "
So, based on your reply, I infer that the process of reimbursement only starts after the 6th of June? In that case, many of the aspirants like me would be in extreme pressure. We are already under huge problem to arrange an amount of 3,75,000 INR in such a short notice, Most of us are arranging it from our acquaintances and family in the hope that in case of our notice to you regarding cancellation, the amount will be reimbursed asap.
I hope our concern would be understood by you and the esteemed SIBM management and a quick reimbursement procedure would be facilitated from your end. This would go a long way in helping the prospective students like us.

SIBM:

Me:
Dear Sir,
Thanks again for a prompt reply. This comes as a breath of fresh air.
Thank you for clarifying. I will transfer the required amount i.e 3,75,000 INR before 7th March.
I hope this constant support from your side will continue in my endeavor of pursuing my MBA from SIBM-Pune
Hope that helps guys. ATB

Fantastic!!!Thnak you for this extremely helpfull post

Hi everybody!

I have been selected for the 2 year PG programme at SIBM. It is a great feeling to finally get a call from SIBM. I want to enquire about certain things which I have in mind. It will be really helpful if you help in clearing some very basic doubts :

a) Apart from the whole programme fees, what are the average expenses for 2 yrs@SIBM? I know it wholly varies from person to person, but I just want a rough estimate.

b) What is the process for getting Summer Internships? Since the college has tie-ups with companies for Summers, is the candidature for a particular company solely based on merit+interview or is it a random process? Also, can people apply for Summers through references??

c) Since I am interested in doing my MBA in Marketing, is there a particular limit for the Marketing batch size@SIBM?

d) When do we have to give choice for our departments?

e) Do companies which come for Marketing offer diverse profiles like "Strategy" and "Brand Management" or is it a pure "on field" type job??
Do Marketing companies offer MDP/BLT programs to SIBM students?
What is the scene of "Laterals in" at SIBM?? And, most importantly, is there a bias towards work-ex guys in FMCG sector??

f) Do we have a 5 day or 6 day per week schedule for regular classes?

g) Any idea of the no. of international offers in Marketing last year and max. package? I have seen the basic placement details in SIBM website, but details for a particular stream are not given on the website. Anyways, if you cannot reveal this info.....no issues(just wanted to have a clear idea)

I think most of the people joining this year would have same things in mind.
Seniors......plz...throw some light on these doubts. Your efforts will be really appreciated.

Waitlist 12:shocked:......Puys, Seniors: koi chance he bhai??

have multiple number of people been put on same waitlist? I also have WL12
Confusion Confusion

I posted the same question in the onBoard SIBM forum and received the following reply from vihay pareek
Please find the answer to your queries below:

1. The Pre-Induction program is conducted online. It is not conducted on campus.
2. You will need to produce a resignation acceptance letter on the 7th March. The relieving letter will be required once you join the institute on 6th June.
3. Your fee receipt will be couriered once we receive your payment. It is difficult to understand why a University/College would not issue a TC/MC only on a fee receipt.

im a bit surprised...how will i present a letter of resignation since i wont wanna resign too early...to join in 1st week of June, I will resign 2 months(the duration of the notice period) ie in april...
ozzyaakash Says
Same pinch. I'm waitlist 12 too. Wait..how d eff is dis possible?:wow:

@ozzyaakash: i just saw this post....have the same doubt...

multiple ppl can have the same waitlist no. if and only if their composite ge/pi score is same....
so if someone along with you has the same WL no 12 that mean the next WL no. is 14.....

also WL 12 in general is different from WL 12 in other quota...
so kindly bear that in mind...

cheers!!!

1. a very rough estimate would e around 4k extra per month...but that depends on the person...

2. yes summer placements are achieved through our placement advisory team.... incase you want to do it through your own source...then you have to opt out of the whole procedure in college....

3. marketing batch size is 90

4. yes you are asked to choose your specialization 45 days into the course...you will have exams and interviews for the same....

5. yes companies do offer various profiles..... rangin from on field to strategy...
we do have an executive batch...but their placements are different.....
partiality towards work ex is upon the specific company.... no explicit comment can be made to that effect..though work ex is preferred by most co......

6. we have a 6 day work week...if you take marketing..you may have 7 day work weeks depending on the availability of certain profs that take certain marketing courses....

7. as you said.... these informations cant be revealed....in any case you are joining....so you will get to know once you are here.....we will be able to tell you then....

all the best!!!

hi Puys.
I am Waitlist No. 20.
I wanted to know what are my chances of converting it in the 1st merit list on 10th March.
I am asking this because I plan to put in my resignation on 1st march(have had enuf of this job 😉 ).
So, I want to be 100% sure that I will convert this, before I take such a step.
Please suggest.....
thanks.

you can be 100% certain that you will convert....
but the 1st list on 10th march looks like a touch and go situation for you....
maximum you WILL CONVERT BY THE 2ND LIST

Can you share with us the profiles offered to Marketing guys this year??(with numbers....e.g. "a" no. of ppl got into Strategy, "b" no. of ppl got into BM, "c" no. of ppl got Sales Manager profiles )....I don't think providing this info will be against college's confidential data sharing. Atleast, this will give us a fair idea before finally deciding to go for admissions.

Thanks & Regards,
Abishek

has anyone completed the fund transfer to SIBM?
