i have converted my call ........just have some queries..seniors pls help me by solving my queries:
1) what is the strength of Finance batch & operations batch?
2) I heard that interviews & exams will be taken for specialization, so is the interviews are general or going to be tough & grilling?
3) As we have to fill 2 preferences for specialization, suppose if a person couldn't get his first preference then does he/she get the second preference by default?
4) Suppose a person couldn't make it to both the specializations then is the specialization is alloted based on the vacancy left in other specializations or the person is asked for other preferences as well?
Please clarify my doubts... it will be of great help....

can any senior shed light on the marketing specialization . I mean did everyone get their 1st choice in marketing as there were 90 seats or did some people miss out, if yes can anyone give the exact figure of aspirants-no of seats for marketing??

I had confirmed this with Shourya in the SIBM Queries thread.
1) No. of seats are fixed.
2) Definite chances, if number of interested students in Finance is >45.
3) From earlier posts, you can see that a test and interview is held 45 days after joining.

1) Yes seats are fixed for each specialization with Mar-90, Fin, HR, Ops having 45 seats
2) Majority of the time people do get there preferred specialization ..... in our senior or in our batch everyone has got his desired preference ....so dont much worry abt it
3)You are asked to give a preference for specialization 45 days in to the course......... u need to give a exam for it
4) No we dont have a major and minor in our clg
let me tell you that what you might be hearing may not be genuine....
so dont go by any rumour
waitlist for the batch of 2011 is not possible to get now as we are not privy to that info...
waitlist for our batch of 2012 went to 84 in the GENERAL category....
after the initial waitlist of 50 odd...... calls were handed out as and when the seats cleared up due to cancellation...this went on till june...
so guyz dont worry...

As far as my knowledge goes, SIBM-P is famous for its HR and Marketing roles...
As we have to choose in 45 days after the commencement, it is important to know what one is getting into...

placement overview for this finals is not possible as am not allowed to divulge data before placements report.....
but our summers have been excellent....best in the batch....co. coming for HR is probably the only one in india....no other college in the country can boast of microsoft...intel...cisco...texas instruments coming together.....
since ours is primarily a fmcg campus...such co. are always present.,...
but trust me...after you join and before the 45th day is over...you WILL have n no. of reasons to do HR from SIBM-P
