I am planning to apply to ISB for 2013 and here is my background -
Work Ex - 3+yrs

Graduation - BTech Electronics; CGPA - 9.2/10

Hello Mr Kannan
Hope you are doing well. I am sure ul be bored of answering same queries again and again while ppple give their profile and ask you if it is worth it.. now i guess im here to add one more for you...
I have done Mech engg (2007 passout) and worked one year in a small industry. Afta that I spent one and a half year in teaching and currently in Thermax Ltd as a project engineer and we deal with water business- (2 years).
This makes my core exp as 3 years. I would love to be a part of your one year MBA course but I guess its not that easy to make it.. but any ways.. harder the struggle sweeter the victory..
I would like to you to give an opinion on my profile wether I should apply for mba this year 2013 or try for 2014 intake..
Apprciate your patience for reading this. Your inputs will be very valuable.
It is a phone and Skype interview. There is no disadvantage or advantage in using either in person or skype interview. Interviews commernce once the round 1 deadline is past.

Right? Or do i need to do something further? a bit confused..And also does ISB accept evaluations fromETS速 Personal Potential Index (ETS速 PPI) ?
Once you 'submit' the evaluator's information, an email is automatically sent out to the evaluator. You do not need to do anything thereafter for your evaluation.
ISB requires and considers only GMAT scores.
@Kunal21 said: Dear Sir,I have just completed my graduation and have started working with a leading management consulting. I have a few questions to ask:1) Am i still eligible for YLP?2) If I apply for deferred admission, what all factors would be taken into consideration while judging my candidature? Would my position and domain be taken into consideration?3) Do I need to have a high GMAT score than others to make up for my lack of work ex?4) In case the dates have already been passed this year, when would the process start next year? (Tentative dates, in case it hasn't been finalized till now)Sincerely,Kunal
- Deferred admissions in the PGP are offered to candidates who present a strong overall application but require more time to complete the minimum two years of workex. The evaluation criteria remain the same for all PGP applicants.
- Your workex is valuable if it demonstrates that you have learnt valuable lessons from it and if it has enhanced your self awareness and career focus. Whether one works at a well known brand name or at a small firm is not a deciding criteria in itself.
- GMAT scores and academic grades help to gauge your ability to handle the academic intensity of the PGP. Other aspects of your application and profile - especially clarity of purpose, objectives, self awareness, leadership attributes and involvement in your larger community are critical to making a strong application. You should not concentrate solely on GMAT scores - rather seek to construct a strong complete application keeping in view all the aspects we ask for.

Till date I have over 4+ years of international work experience in the same company. I am currently preparing for GMAT and planning to give the exam at the end of this year. I have the following questions:1. Would my Master's degree in US add value to my profile when I apply to ISB.2. I am planning to apply for ISB next year. By the time I apply for ISB I am anticipating 5+ years of International experience. Would I have greater edge over other applicants because of my international work experience?3. Honestly I do not have any significant extracurricular activities till date. Would this hurt my chances of admission? But I would like to start working in this area from now and I really like doing social service activities. If I start getting into these activities 1 yr before my application to ISB, would this be helpful ?4. I worked as a Software developer since the past 4 yrs and also received promotion as a developer. But I have huge interest to get into Business Analysis side and got an oppurtunity to work as a Business Analyst. Do you think working as a Business Analyst in one of the top companies add more value to my profile or hurt my profile. Please adviseThanks
- Your higher education is indicative of your interests and advanced knowledge in specialized areas. In addition to your grades, the learnings you can demonstrate from having completed the program of study and having lived in an international location could also be valuable to your profile.
- Workex is valuable due to your takeaways from it. Hence, it is important to convey your learnings owing to your work experiences whether they be domestic or international. Just having worked internationally is not an advantage in itself - not all applicants are in a situation to work internationally.
- You may consider thinking deeper about non-work related activities that interest you or that you have participated and been actively involved in in the recent past. You can also use more recent interests and involvements. It is important that we understand what else you do and are genuinely curious about besides concentrating on your profession and studies as this presents a fuller picture of you as a person.
- Any efforts that demonstrate your desire and commitment to move in the direction of your chosen career and personal goals is a strong point as it shows focus and responsibility taking on your part.
- Please spend adequate time reflecting and preparing your essays, interests & achievements to present a complete and strong profile. The GMAT is but one component of the application and not all of it.

@suvemariner said: Hello sir.....I have just entered 3rd year of my college and want to apply ISB-YLP program...but I am confused about year in which to apply...as our undergraduate degree is officially of 4 years but we are unable to complete it in given period due to a year long mandatory internship (both semesters of 4th year) on merchant naval ships and shipping rules constraints attached with it.,.due to which,we are not allowed to sail continuously for 1 year,so it takes 4.5-5 years or even more(avg-5 yrs) to complete our under-graduation...Therefore,should I apply in april of 3rd or 4th year ???????Thankyou

Hi -
How would you rate the quality and speed of responses on this thread?
@Ruqaiyah said:ISB.AdmissionsI am a third year engineering student. I was very keen to apply in the Young Leaders Program, but could not because my pre-final year kicked off from July 2012 where as the application stage 1 deadline was March 15, 2012.My question: When is the next best possible time for me to apply in the YLP?Thanks
We would need to understand when your pre-final exams are complete. If you are going to be in pre-final year until March 2013, you can apply for YLP 2013. If however you have completed your pre-final year exams by March 2013, you would need to apply for regular PGP admissions post graduation - possibly for a deferred admission.
