No statistics please. In case you get through BITS, you would understand how bureaucratic its functioning is. But since i was there in your place last year, lets put a few names of the companies for the batch of 2010-2012.

In campus- J&J; , JP Morgan, E&Y;, Elcon Group, UCO bank, Aditya Birla Group- Leadership, Idea Cellular, Capital IQ etc.
Converted PS : Goldman Sach, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, India Cements etc.
Off Campus- McKinsey(person went on to join BMW), TCS , Symphony Teleca etc.

Please note we do not want to mention the pay packages. No further clarifications.

EVAN LETS UNDERSTAND THAT IN ANY CASE BITS IS NOT DOING THIS....

SIR YOU CAN JUST TELL US THAT IS THIS COLLEGE HAS 100% ON -CAMPUS PLACEMENT OR STUDENTS HAVE TO MOVE OUT FOR THEIR PLACEMENTS..........

If we opt out, no one would volunteer to help. So please don't ask anything, which will create problem to the person who is trying to help out. BITS Pilani doesn't release any stats for any course. Please file a petition with RTI in case you want to have it figured out. You have every right. I can't take on my very institute. I hardly have time for that.
For the last part, we call by names. And the batch had more than 100% placements, all driven by the student committee , PS Division and PU- BITS Pilani.

Come with a will to learn. BITS provides the best peer learning. There's so much to learn. Job will happen eventually guys. Its just a parameter. Don't make it the only parameter. If you don't have the knowledge, even if the BITS brand pulls good companies, you will not be able to meet the standards they expect. That's why we expect the batch to be totally sound about this. BITSAT was good. But since we wanted to reach the untapped potential, with futuristic vision, management has taken a decision. BITSAT had given a good input, in my batch. Hope our juniors only get better. Cheers! ATB.

and criteria for shortlisting..was it only through CAT scores or both CAT scores and profile ??

@hitex If you made the payment by ICICI bank , you can refer the money recipt of the candidates copy. Not sure about the Online payment mode.
Best option would have been to keep a copy of your application form with you .

Congrats to all who got shortlisted. Now the real test begins for them

Well, i would to add to few things here.
2011-13 batch placement is not over. They have gone to their practice schools, so we will only get to know the complete placement statistics after they complete it.
Secondly 2010-2012 batch where placed in reputed firms. All the companies that have recruited them have been put up, along with the profiles.
You can infer the packages what they offer from those information. Anyway Highest was offered by J &J; (11.5 lpa), and lowest was 5.5 Lpa.
Also one of their batch student- puneet, got placed in BMW as a international management associate. (You all know how tough it is to get into BMW)

Regarding the other things-
Education system of BITS will make you strong in funda's, will give you the required skills, exposure, and most importantly; Support from alumni who are world renowed. If you are aware, BITSAA is probably the strongest alumni association in whole of india.
Also you would learn a lot. You will organise your own fest, placements, club activities, magazine activity etc.
Lastly the brand BITS Tag will help you on a long run. Recently (JAN 9th 2013) BITS launched a path breaking teleconferencing network called BITS Connect 2.0. During the launch CISCO CEO said " Be proud BITS, you are now one of the elite in the world ".
You can very well, look into the youtube videos of it.

@prashanthrpk and @VenkatNaveen : Hi Guys, I have been shortlisted for the GD/PI. Can you please provide some information on GD topics, Interview prep and the overall selection process (like what importance is given to Work Ex, Background, GD, PI, CAT marks etc) ?

Is interview is going to be technical also or purely HR based ?
What are the key things you have to keep in mind when preparing for BITS or giving the GD/PI ?

i know this is a very inappropriate question to be asked at this moment of stage but i wanna know if even final year btech students are eligible for this program because i am in my final year now and i even got shorlisted but if i know that i am not eligible then i can stop further selection process.

GD, PI centres have not yet been finalised.

Process is going on for that it seems. We would try to find some grapevine for that.
