regarding seniors placements, Many interviews are going on, we cannot comment exactly on it now. Companies that we posted for 2010-12 batch are regulars here in BITS. This year too they have come, along with additional companies. Now we would like all to focus more on interview/ Gd part. As this is just days away. and one sincere say to all, Please don't focus more on placements. Educations, Profs, Opportunity to learn are all those which you must look into a institute. Please post questions on that front. Why do people go to IIM A- Quality education, exposure, part of best alumni network. It's not placements. Once you get the first three part, the last one will automatically follow. So post questions related to educational aspects of BITS, Alumni support it has, Exposure you get here. We would be delighted to help you on that front.
I have a doubt, my gd pi is at pilani on 13th at 9 o'clock and i have another gd pi on 12th in delhi.
SO it would be very difficult for me to reach at 9 in pilani, is there an afternoon session planned too? i have already called the admission dept twice and they ahve no idea about it

if you can find out from them whether is it feasible to attend the afternoon session.

Congratulation in the first place. No we do not have anyone with 98% score in CAT. But people who did appear for CAT and whose score i recollect from our admissions discussion was in 91 to 94 percentile range. And since the colleges in this reckoning were IMI, LBSIM, FORE, Welingkar, few IITs barring IIT-D,IIT-M and IIT-B ; we choose BITS.
Just to have mention a fact- we sit with IIT-B for Johnson and Johnson. That is an example that will help your judgement.
Yes it is true that you're apprehensive about joining. My personal advice is, if you're getting call from new IIMs or any of the proper b-schools , i.e. MDI , IIFT, NMIMS etc , prefer them. If its a techno MBA program, I guess we are just there.

@MANC-LONDON - Am not sure on this one. So I won't be able to provide you any assertive information. Yes, weightage would be there for CAT scores , academics, work experience and GD-PI. Again how much weightage is for the panel to decide. Our faculty is leaving next week to cover the admissions. Best part is, be original with all of them. They are all to witty for you guys to toy around. All street smart and great academicians.
@VenkatNaveen as bits is a very avg clg m very skptical abt joining it.... heard that nt gd for mba..... nt in top 50 clg even..... i am doubt......... dnt knw abt the infrastrcture also,whether it will give a feel of studying mba like other grt b-schools...??? give ur frank views......(dnt mind,m jst clearing my doubts)
@MANC-LONDON - My advice to you is, if you are very skeptical, do not join. Because you will take seat for a person who is more than willing and passionate to join. I have many messages in my inbox from students but I hardly have time to reply.

First think about where you saw it ? Which company did a survey? What factors are taken into consideration?
Do you know by fact that a b-school has to participate in a survey to be ranked? Do you know that a site ranked BITS as 21st overall in India but poor chap got screwed because he did not have proper information when department called them up [ a very good site trust me ].
Well there are a lot of things to blabber. BITS campus is 300 acres. We have access to only what people dream of - visit our campus...its rated as one of the best in India. And like us, all IITs have the same campus - where there department operate. I can name on fingers many sites who rank us amongst the national cadre institutes - including the CAT official website where you saw BITS listed. Open sites from IMS coaching center , AC Nielsen survey, Business Line, India today. You are asking the question in site which ranks us on 46th or 47th I guess. Yes, we have a strength of 45 students who hardly care to vote for their b-schools hence the number of votes that appear would never reflect what goes inside the campus. @VenkatNaveen i was jst clearing my doubt..... i have my senior frnd in m.tech in bits pilani... its very very gd for enginnering ..i also knew this facts befr to sm extent as i am frm nit... he quoted that mba is nt gd... wont get the exposure like other top b-schools.... so i was in doubt....... bt i would keep bits as my backup only,last clg if i dnt manage other gd clgs..... (NEVER MIND,AS I M AN ASPIRANT I WAS ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS,AFTER ALL ONE NEED A SUPERB B-SCHOOL.)

@VenkatNaveen I really appreciate your feedback and more so because of the element of honesty..U didn't at all tried to show off or give false hopes as other b-school coordinators on pagalguy do..I wl defintly try to attnd d gd-pi process,my only actual constraint is that I won't b getting off from office but wl stl try to manage a half day..thanks a lot..keep up the good work..

@pj15 i have spoken to faculty involved in admission. She has said that, reporting time can be delayed by say 20 to 30 min, but not by a great extent. As you must be allotted to a GD panel, and if the GD gets over by the time you make. It would be a disaster. If you happen to be in delhi or jaipur, Please board a bus (say night), you will reach pilani early morning. And you can find accommodation here in VFAST guest house or guest house outside Pilani and finish the GD and interview.
Guys, Prepare well for your interview and GD. Plan you trip properly. Make sure you reach on time. Go through our site, Program Details, Be clear about why you want BITS. Prepare well on your funda's- Work related (If applicable) and undergraduate course related. Be confident, Never speak outside the facts, Be humble and simple in your approach. Lastly be honest with all the answers. People who are conducting interview all value this trait very much.

hello @aybidsibun - Today was a holiday. Will ask someone here and let you know about HYD campus accommodation. But HYD campus will be having guest houses similar to pilani campus. anyway will get official information.
