@all..if thr is ny chance for a general category candidate who has jst managed to clear the cut off i.e. sm1 with 98.56 %ile??

@sasikmr417
I think you might have a chance. Please check with Admissions office once before losing all hopes
@sasikmr417 yaar you must check with the admission office. The point that you have raised is very logical. Waise form toh bhej hi do.

same situation bro me to 98.56 ha h a ha
@sasikmr417 same scene here buddy...

since the cut-off for ST's is 52.50 , there should be at least one candidate with this % that fms plans to call. And with both the sectionals>=50 , it is highly improbable that overall % is only 52.50. ( if it is possible then don't read further ).

Any idea how is it possible ??
1. Have the authorities overlooked the sectionals while calling candidates ?
2. Are the cut-off's arbitrary with the last candidate called not at the cut-off percentile ?
@sasikmr417 the fms puys uploaded a pdf file the other day (dont remember when was,u can go through the previous posts,must b sumwhere der) and it clearly stated that SC/ST have a relaxation of upto 10%ile,so hopefully if u score above 40%ile in any one of the sections,ur in the list (not very sure )...
@rahulsharma3154 ...hahaha..bt ve tried 2 find out?ny information? lyk if ny1 frm last yr whn cut off was 98.73 made it or for dat matter ny1 having %ile less than 98.9 made?coz smwhr i ve read dat thr s 70% weight-age for cat score n 30% weight age for GD/PI.

all i could gather was its tough indeed but if we excel in the gd/pi there could be a ray of hope.....lets hope for the best....
@requeim4adream

You're right, but 30% weightage plays a very very crucial role. So, even with lesser marks in CAT, you have a chance of converting your call! :D
@sasikmr417 then most probably to maintain the required seats to call ratio, they have overlooked the sectional cut-off's !! In all probability you would be called .

@manoavenger Relaxations have been mentioned for the qualifying degree %'s , not for the cat % cut-off's.
@requeim4adream : last year cut-off was higher at 98.73 and people did indeed convert..atleast that's what I was told. Of course, it is extremely tough below 99.3. Only time will tell how things spell out since the situation is a lot different this year compared to last year, with more than 350 in General not even turning up due to converts from ABCL and XL..
@Mad_Max8 m pretty sure i read relaxation in sectionals ... neways,if they overlook the sectionals,still cool
@sasikmr417 in that case you must voice your problem if they don't give you a call. Because 47.49% is clearly not possible with both sectionals at 50 !!! I guess seniors can help in this regard. Waise I have the gut feeling that you would be called. All the best !!
@rahulsharma3154 @mjuneja ...hmmm

are FMS guys not thinking logically? i say this because the 50% sectional cutoff was okay and logical when they had their own entrance test with 4 sections. But with CAT having just 2 sections then still having 50% as cutoff means that in reality NO sectional cutoff...i am speaking from General category perspective. Since the general cutoff is 98.56% then surely no one can achieve this OA with any 1 section
FMS is truly behaving like a pure SARKARI institute.....which is not what we expect from it.

@Bottomline21 yaar don't use derogatory words like lame for people at FMS. This is the institute that we aspire for and dream of being a part one day. Voice your view objectively.
