hi i have booked my slot for nmat,and i heard that there are separate applications for mba and pgdm,,i took a application of 1650 ,,this would refer which one of them??

@[605754:deealer] Please go through the second post on this thread. Follow the links given on the post and you will find the answers to most of your queries like Placements, Cut-offs, Faculty, Course content etc. If not, then you can post your specific query here.
As NMAT 2013 is yet to happen, its too early to be talking about cut-offs. Moreover speculating cut-offs does not benefit anyone. I would suggest you to apply to NMIMS Bangalore and study hard for NMAT. You can only have an idea from previous years' cutoff because the difficulty level of paper might change as it did last year. Higher your score, better are the chances to make it to NMIMS Bangalore.

please answer few queries of mine
1.What is total fee of NMIMS bangalore(including hostel, mess and everything else).Does the campus have hostel?
2. where the GD/PI is conducted(only in bangalore or in other cities too, i live in kolkata)
3. please some light on placements(try to be real)
4. there are how many engineers in current batch with work ex of 2+ years?
5. why NMIMS bangalore is not in PAGALGUY ranking. Is it not worth of being in a list of even 100 colleges?
6. Is it AICTE/UGC approved? Please clear some air on approvals? Does it have a deemed university status

1. Total fees of NMIMS Bangalore for the current 1st year batch is 4,56,000 per year for College and 1,15,000 for Hostel. It is subject to change every year. The hostel is located 10 mins away from College for which travel is provided in the morning and evening.
2. Last year GD-PI was conducted at the Mumbai Campus only. This is because the complete admission process is handled by NMIMS Mumbai. This being said we cannot be certain for this year's admission process.

4. If i am to guestimate then engineers with 2+ yrs of work-ex would be around 20-30% of the Batch. We have non-engineers with work-ex of 2+ yrs too. It is a well balanced and diverse batch if that is what your query is. We have engineers, CAs, Science and commerce graduates.
5. Please understand NMIMS Bangalore is not an independent college. It is an off campus of NMIMS Mumbai. For example SIBM has different colleges in Pune and Bangalore, but NMIMS has another campus of the same Institution. For this reason and the fact that only one batch from NMIMS Bangalore has passed out, it is not prevalent in the Rankings yet. Another point you should know is PAGALGUY rankings are based on Popularity/Perception of a B-school and not on its detailed analysis on relevant parameters. Do an independent analysis yourself and then make a decision based on that.
6. As mentioned in the previous post, NMIMS Bangalore comes under the same umbrella in which NMIMS Mumbai operates i.e. NMIMS University. The diploma that we receive is given by the NMIMS University itself and not NMIMS Bangalore. The course content is same as MBA-FT of NMIMS Mumbai. The reason we get PGDM instead of MBA is because it is different State in which we operate. The approval process of awarding an MBA by NMIMS at Bangalore campus is underway. So to sum it up, we are under a DEEMED UNIVERSITY Status, same as NMIMS Mumbai.
On a more personal note, don't go by Rankings and Perception alone while selecting a B-school. Take a closer look at it's Faculty, Industry Interaction and stress on management education rather than on Marketing itself. Most of our Faculty is ex-Faculty of IIMs itself. I can vouch for the fact that NMIMS Bangalore has at par or at times even better Faculty than most top B-schools. (http://nmimsbangalore.org/ourteam/professor.htm). The stress given on education and learning makes every day and hour highly productive at NMIMS Bangalore.
The curriculum and pedagogy here is top notch. There is so much to do and learn that time management is one thing you will learn within a month of being here.
Lastly, have a look at the Placement Report and put it into perspective as the placements of the first batch of a B-school.
