[2013-2015] SCIT Aspirants Queries and Discussions

@Vruta Hi

Your profile looks good.

All The Best for SNAP!!

@SreeSharan.s thank u :)
@SreeSharan.s : Thanks! Thats Great
How much mark do u need to clear the cutoff ?

SCIT or SICSR which one is better?

@Jakes Hi dude,
Both colleges are good...! but SCIT's fees for MBA-ITBM is higher than SICSR MBA-IT..
I have applied to both the colleges.
Have u..?
@Jakes Hi

It depends on the number of students who apply for SCIT and difficulty level of SNAP that year. Its difficult to predict the cut off. This year SNAP Result wont be in terms of score but it will be in terms of percentile.
@Jakes Wrong forum to ask such a question 😃 ! I'm from SCIT, probably I can answer all your queries related to SCIT. And I would advise you to use SICSR thread for queries related to them 😃 ! All the best 😃 !

how many students applied for scit last year ?
number of seats for outside maharasthra student genral cataegory
i m from ec background is it worthfull for me 2 apply?

@ab2 Honestly, we really are not sure of how many students APPLIED for SCIT last year, but we can tell you that approximately 1500 were shortlisted for the GE/PI rounds and the current batch of students were selected from that.
There aren't any fixed number of seats for any state (not even Maharashtra). But the number of seats allocated for the GENERAL category are 135 (out of the 180 seats).
Being an ECE student does not hinder your admission 😃 You would just have to be passionate about IT and comfortable with the curriculum prescribed at SCIT (For more information, browse thru the course content in the website).

hi, i have done my BTech in EE and from last 1 year in am working on ASP.NET(C#) in a small software company. i have applied for SNAP and i need an advice should i apply to SCIT. i have few concerns, please clarify

As i have seen in students profile of SCIT most of the guys are from CS/IT/BCA/MCA/BSc IT i.e computer background, what chance does a non computer student like me have (during admissions and placements)? I mean to say that during final placements companies must will prefer computer science background and experienced of top MNC'S and most of the students in SCIT are from CS Background and have a top MNC experience. In this scenario WILL NON COMPUTER STUDENTS SUFFER DURING FINAL PLACEMENTS? This is a very serious concern for me and i am sure for all non computer students while applying to SCIT? seniors please reply

@smcetguy Hi dude,
I m not senior but still I think that as per your profile you are in touch with IT or u r into IT since you are working in IT company so it doesn't matter that you are non-IT student. You don't have to worry. and as per my knowledge MNC companies also sees your performance in MBA during 2 years,if u hav any exp then tat is an advantage. Companies give more preference to experienced candidates that freshers...!
Even commerce background students get good pay package and gets placed in good MNC companies after MBA.
so dont worry..!
I hope my explanation somehow answer your question..!
Regards,
Manoj
