Thank a lot for the inputs so far. Just wish to know, if there are any specific books for GK that we can refer to for the HR paper or will a daily newspaper be sufficient.

If you have a habit of reading a general newspaper and a business-related newspaper daily, it should suffice for now.
Try and get hold of the GK material provided by coaching inst. as and when those are available. That will help quite a bit.
Also, many websites have free SNAP and IIFT mocks. You can solve the GK section of those mocks too.
I am 25 years of age and i am a b-tech Mechanical engineer with only 59 % ,,,,Ma work experience is only in running own business,,family business,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,now i am intrested in Cat,,,,,if i prepare hard can i get into top 30 b-school in india
@sindhureddyvr It is not about the the work-ex weightage. We have more freshers in senior batch then work-ex...It is about how you perform in GD and Interview..written is only a small step..There is no weightage of work-ex..
For the HRM paper while the sections of DI,DS and RC were similar to any other entrance exams, GK was unexpected. Except last year I think all the previous years had questions from HR concepts, but last year there were no questions from HR, also there were some tough questions on Goverment policies. Therefore please could you tell us what we could expect this year in GK.

Do you really think we would be able to tell you what you could expect in this year's GK section??
Had that been the case, we would have tried our best and told OURSELVES what we could expect in our final exams of first semester .
FYI, our final exam is approaching really fast and we have absolutely no idea as to what we can expect
This applies to all entrance exams-->DO NOT go with a mindset or a pre-conceived notion. You can channelize your preparation in a particular direction depending on trends and patterns but never have an "expected" paper or an "expected" level of difficulty in your mind.
Remember-->Everyone is writing the same paper. If it is difficult for you, it is difficult for most of the test-takers. All you need to do is perform better in RELATIVE terms and not in ABSOLUTE terms.
For all those who fill it, please do not post "DONE" or something like that here. I have faith in all of you and I know you all will do it. I do not need a confirmation.
Sorry if this qualifies as spam. Need as many responses as possible
@SufyS Patience buddy, patience is the key to success. Don't worry....TISS will definitely intake students for the batch 2013-2015. Relax. Spend time in looking for Facts, curriculum, study culture etc, all about TISS. In case you make it to the PI round (I wish so atleast), you shall be able to tell a lot about them to them...... :)
