@IT engineers...

i have attended GD/PI at bangalore on 19th.overall process was like to unprofessional,it can be more managed and smooth as this can be expected from such an old B-School,but things were opposite they made the whole processs so hectic.GD was fine (topic was "should religion & politics co-exist".As far as pi was concerned it was one of the worst interview that i have ever had.As soon as i entered they started saying being an IT engg. you should not opt for HRM,this is not ur cup of tea and bla blah...,they were not ready to listen any thing.i felt like those were not from an institute like XISS which is a known B-school,they are behaving like an idiots.i even doubt whether they were the HR or the normal college staff.As far as i have experienced till now with my other PIs, HR people are so cool and decent but they are just opposite.After attending this interview i seriously doubt about the college and the level of its mngt. courses.

at last i would say that if such colleges think that s/w engineers cant do well in Hr and other fields of mngt,then need to change their mindset.now after having the few glimpse of xiss

i can understand that why even after 50 years of existense this college is struggling as compared to other B-Schools which are developed and raised their standard with in 10-12 years only.

P.S. this is completely my experience.

@punkman stress interview is something in which u get a chance to answer,u asked various types of questions instead of start questioning about the eligibility of someone without judging one's capability.for me it was just a one sided interview ,i didnt even got chance to say my points.

Anyone who is done can please tell me how long did the whole process take?
I have reservations @ 5. GD starts @ 8:30. Will it be finished by 4?
Also, are xerox copies of documents are needed? If I have original XAT score card do I have to get it attested?

Centre: Delhi

GD topic: " Have we lost our soul to devil?"
Time: 9-30 AM

12 member grp. 20 min duration.. Total fish market!!! Everyone ws try to put their point nd not listen.. though at a point no one ws speaking.. Even gt away frm d topic.. I came up with 3-4 points but thanks to 2-3 ppl who got emotionally attached with the topic, others had to plead dem to listen dere points!!

In short no conclusion with 2-3 summarisations.. 😛 and a BIG FISH MARKET!!

Next came the PI.
3 interviewers, very cool chilled out (2 of them sat in gd)
No technical questions were asked!!! 😃

P1 asked all the questions.. rest two kept looking at me.

P1: Your graduation subjects? College? Why from different place than your hometown?(I did my grad from another city)
Me: all answered

P1: Your choice if not finance?
Me: no other

P1: Why should the board consider you?
Me: anwered (rilli short!! too nervous!!)

P1: What do you think that management people here look in students?
Me: again messed up!!

P1: Why Xiss? If not XIss then??
Me: answered

P1: What is Finance?
Me: answered

P1: What is cost of money?
Me: No idea sir(me bein from b.tech).. p1 smiled and said along with me

P1: Present finance minister?
Me: answered

P1: Previous finance minister?
Me: answered

P1: Do you have any idea who is the finance minister of madhya pradesh?
Me: Smiling "no sir i don't have any idea"

P1: P2 and P3 nodding in support: okay sneha you can go now..

My stats: 2.5- 3/ 5

I don't know really how it went!! Forgot to mention if not xiss den i have 2 jobs!! I screwed it up!!

Got another call for imt-n/h/d.. hop i do remember what to say!!

@shivamus it depends in which group are u for your gd.. try getting there early and get into first group.. u will get free till 10:30-11:00 am.

Wont they assign groups? At IMT we were assigned different panels and that could not be changed..

sharing my gd/pi experience on 18th feb at bangalore...gd topic was "can women empowerment alone help our women",a kind of fish market.....pi was gud,the panel was really calm,cross questioning on what u answer did exist,they even asked tehnicals of hotel management(i didnt expect that,am a hotel management final year student),overall it went well,just an advise,be honest,dont lie,they are cool people,and ya "dnt ever ask for a pen from gd mentor,u will be literally screwed during the pi ;)"

well they said that the process will start at 8:30 but it started at 9:30 am then the process started xat and cmat score student gd parallel in 2 room and my gd was in the first round and topic was management institute focus more on placement or education as topic was easy so it was a fish market and at last they told to conclude again it was fish market so they told 3 person to conclude well one of them was me.
then for pi it was at 1:30 pm the lady who was coordinating was very helpful and they told me sit for a while after that they will call and they called me at 2 pm and pi lasted for 20 min
3 people were there in the panel
simple question with no technical only thing is gk and some logic question they asked and how will u link ur grad with mba .so over all it was ok .now lets see the result

19th Feb Bangalore gd/pi report


The GD was as expected an easy topic, just to test your group performance and communication skills more than anything else, but with 15 people in a group, it was a bit clumsy, as many dared not to open their mouth, but the panel got them a chance to speak at the end

The PI started off pretty well, but in the end just turned out to be a mere formality
Not sure how will they justify a reject/convert based on the PI of people after lunch as it was hardly of 5 mins, out of which 2 mins must be consumed for filling up the form

Over all process was decent, but a bit disappointed with the PI process, I didnt expect this from a college of this repute

For those who are yet to go for the gd-pi, make sure you speak in the GD, they mainly test that whether you can confidently speak in a group or not

For PI I hope you people get atleast 10 mins 😃

is it mandatory to bring the score card sent to our home,,or will the downloaded score card do...asking coz i havnt received my score card yet..
