Coz, its easy to see, in the firm that I worked for, Deutsche, IIM-A guys report to simple B.Coms. Don't get sucked into this MBA thing dude, never forget that its your brain that matters, not the degree.

well a degree is not what changes your life dude so grow up even if u pass out from IIM-A and get a job in TCS as VP u will be reporting to N.Chandrashekaran who is a simple MCA from NIT Trichy so it is not a degree which makes a person a better leader.people pursue degrees to learn which they can even learn by just gaining work experience in their respective sectors.A degree is what adds a few stars in your profile thats it and makes your profile more attractive in the current competitive era.So dude if u just want to pursue a degree to earn 1 crore per annum better drop the idea and start up your own business because businessmen earn more than even ISB hyderabad passouts so thts my perspective......
I guess Nomura compensation (9L+9L) is creating the problem. From what I know, there are good number of comapnies that have offered 8L or less than that (JLL, ICICI, Kotak (excluding joining bonus) etc.), which should bring down the avg.
Most of the students are placed in IT companies: Infy-11 (avg 7.5-8L, depending work ex), Accenture (6.5-9L, depending on work ex) (It is a grim sitiation where, toppers of the class have to apppear for IT companies..some of them with excellent background in finance)
Please provide the names of companies that have offered 10L or more. It will give a bit more authenticity.
Also, Nomura recruited through competition.....credit should go to the students and not to the college, which prohibits focus guys from participating in other such competitions. (read comptns by JPMC-Investment Banking or by KPMG)

Banking is doomed as close to half of batch is yet to be placed.
Also, from what I know, the companies which are visiting now are offering in the range of 4 (i3 consulting)...same thing happend last year too, with other companies)

yup go for it a general program is always better than a focussed one unless u have specific interest in Capital Markets

yeah and many MBA grads go for entrepreneurships mainly from IIMs and yeah IIM-A is certainly a lot better than NMIMS but still NMIMS Core program is quite good as far as i know from seniors and my friends studying in NMIMS Core
I dont know if this is the situation in all other B school threads, but NM thread is one that I have been following since last year. This confusion about CM and BM. Seniors may advice to go for it if you have specific interest, well, even more than specific interest, what forms the basis for our interest is Avg, Highest package, and where we would be after 5-10 years after a degree from the specific college. The only people who can help are the seniors 😃

done with the admissions..i guess the SPJIMR announcement of further delay in merit list has opened the floodgates and so there is an awful rush today...guys please organize ur photocopies and keep them in handy...and CARRY ONE PHOTO-ID WITH A RECENT PHOTO and a copy of the same...i'm writing this as it has not been mentioned in the admission letter. in the first leg of the procedure, u'll be filling up the reqd form and getting all the photocopies checked and attached with the form; in the second room u'll get the originals checked and hand the draft over, and in the third room u'll obtain the pee receipt and the acknowledgement form.
all the very best. its a long process but u can shorten it depending on how organized and quick u are.
