2. I will have 2yrs 9 months work-ex by March 2014 (in Electrical mnufacturing company)-while I know the 'quality' is what you are looking at vs. quantity...can you suggest a few ways in which a person with low work-ex can differentiate herself from other applicants?

Please do not be concerned about other applicants. Everyone is unique in their own way. However, the difference when it comes to MBA applicants is whether the candidate understands their own set of strengths in an objective way and can use examples, situations to illustrate these. Think about personal and professional situations that you take particular pride and satisfaction in - focusing on these helps bring out the real you in an application and also shows up in the energy with which you can communicate in both written and oral form. I emphasise that please do not overlook your personal situations to talk about examples of qualities & strengths you possess.

I have participated in a lot of activities but dont have much to show in terms of prizes etc. Can you kindly help with this query?

Certificates are not reqd for extra curriculars. We would like to know what else are you interested in and passionate about other than working hard and studying hard. It is okay to not have won prizes at everything one does 😃 We are more interested in understanding whether each candidate is a balanced person who is engaged in other pursuits besides professional ones and how much depth there is to such involvements.
This might come across as a silly question, but does working in my father's business count as a valid work experience? I won't be able to furnish a certificate of any sorts as it is not a corporate entity. I have working as a Project Sales Engineer at Blue Star Ltd for the past year, but due to unavoidable reasons, am bound to join my dad for this year. Will this experience count when it will come to admission at ISB?
In case it does, My class X percentage : 83.5%
My class XII percentage : 79.8 %
My graduation percentage : 65.8%
How good are my chances considering the fact that my work experience will be counted clubbed with the above academics. I have a strong extra curricular profile. I would be grateful if you could solve my dilemma.
I have 8 years of work exp and currently my roles and responsibilities include Technical Product Manager and Software Analyst (apart from some usual programming required time to time).
My issue is my organization has a flat hierarchy so they won't give me anything in written. Does ISB require any documentary proofs for such roles/responsibilities?
Dear Sir -- I have a question regarding the evaluations / letters of recommendation. If my evaluator feels more comfortable writing his own letter of recommendation instead of filling out the evaluation form designed by the ISB, is he free to do so? I have 2 questions:
1. Can an Indian citizen who is presently outside the country enroll for a Skype/Telephonic Interview with Adcom if shortlisted? If so then what is the process?
2. My college name is not under the list of colleges registered under Anna University Chennai although its a famous college in Southern Tamil Nadu. What should I select if I cant find my college name in the list? Also is there any way by which I can get my college name added in the list?

Yes, experience in your family business is valid full-time workex. Please review the documentation requirements in the application portal in case you do not receive a regular pay cheque etc.
It is not possible to comment on chances using GPA data etc. A completed application is reqd as we look at so much more than the GPAs, GMAT before reaching a decision to invite you for an interview. Please focus on your essays to bring out the personality and leadership attributes that may show through in your extra-curriculars.

While i am preparing for Gmat again, but at the same time i have a doubt regarding a Certification, Certificate Programme in Business Analytics, available at ISB which i felt might be useful for me.
I have a current work ex of 30 months with Infosys as a Senior Programmer. I have excelled well during this time with multiple distinct awards. I got 81% in 10th and 78% in PCM 12th, & 650 in GMAT. I am quite interested in moving from Technical line(from writing code) to Business side where i can work as a Business Analyst and help the business by proposing new ideas, understanding their customer base and work on their database to gather useful Intelligence.Please guide me if this certification will be useful and suitable for me.Here's the link to the course:
