Guys what is CBSE rule for First Class / Distinction for Class Xth and Class XIIth anyone?
Hey..need some guidance to write IIM B SOP.. 600 words. What all do I highlight in major and how do i make it interesting? Any pointers or samples welcome!
Dear Aspirants,
A lot of you were asking on tips to write an SOP. So here it goes. These are general tips and you are the best judge.
An SOP generally has 3 parts – what you have done till now, what plans you have for your future and how does MBA and specifically IIMB fit into the whole scheme of things. Generally the three parts are in this same order. But if you have reasons to change the order, you may well do so.
Keep these guidelines when drafting an SOP
· Avoid technical words and jargons. If I'm reading 1400 SOPs do you really think I would be interested to know the intricate technical details of your 7th sem project?
· Focus on the effect, not the cause – you were the vice-president of your college cultural committee; So what? What did you do as the vice-president and what impact did it have?
· Avoid kite flying. Don't say things like 'Leadership is a defining characteristic of a successful manager. I have shown these traits right from college days' etc.,
· Have a concrete plan for your future. Entrepreneurship is not a silver bullet – don't use it as your why MBA reason unless you have a complete plan chalked out.
· Don't give general gyaan – We call it 'globing'. Show what you have done in life, support it with examples and show that you know what you are getting into.
· Organize your SOP into a nice structure. Maintain a flow between paragraphs. Nothing is more irritating than making the reader suddenly switch between two unrelated topics.

1. Is it recommended to get the reference from head of sports activities at your college under whom i worked as the sports secretary or better to take a reference from some professor?
2. I am thinking of taking two references from my past workplace- one from my mentor there and other from the manager, so is it effective or should i look at some other options?

I would like to know about how to enter my industry in Work Experience section of online application. I come from Management Consulting and there is no option to enter it. Is there any bucket under which it falls? or should I call the admissions office and ask?

In the university level section, will uploading the transcript be enough since it contains the marks for all the semesters and mentions about degree completion?

I am a 2013 batch pass out. I have not yet received my original degree certificate. It is generally given at convocation, which is still due. Is it okay to attach the Provision Degree Certificate or should I ask my college to arrange the original ASAP?

In the online application--- University Level Section--- it is said that we have to upload our Bonafide Final year student certificate (for students still pursuing their degree) in the 'given' format which can apparently be downloaded from that section. However there doesn't seem to be any link for downloading the same. Please tell me what should I do? Should I upload the bonafide certificate in th eformat that our University follows? Would that be okay? I tried calling IIM B admissions section,, they told me to mail the query. I did that twice day before yesterday and yesterday but there has been no reply from their side.
